Zone-loading Opening Pages Untimely.

Good morning,

It’s been some time that I’ve had problems opening pages when I go to the Zone-download site (not to mention the computer which is rowing quite a bit…)

I’ve sometimes looked for answers and the only ones that seemed useful to me are at your place (cf: https://forums.cnetfrance.fr/topic/12…la-navigation/, so I’m going for it.

ZHPCleaner cleaning

Temporarily disable your antivirus, it could interfere with the tool.

AdwCleaner Cleaning

Download

AdwCleaner (from Xplode) Saves this file on the desktop and not elsewhere.

  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe which is on the desktop.
  • For Vista, Seven, Windows 8/10 right click on the downloaded file and Run as administrator
  • Click on Scanner
  • Click on Clean Allow the tool to work

  • Once the cleaning is done, the tool will ask for a restart of the pc accepted.
  • A report will be created and saved as C:\Adwcleaner\AdwCleaner [C*].txt Post its contents in link in your next answer.

Junkware Removal Tool scan

Download Junkware Removal Tool saves this file to your desktop.

  • Close all your browsers Under XP, double-click on the icon and press a key when prompted.
  • In Vista/7/8, right click and Run as administrator.
  • NB: The office will disappear for a while, that’s normal.
  • Let the program work, don’t touch anything else
  • Item linked to the report generated at the end of the analysis.

For the other problems I’ve encountered, I’ll maybe see it a little more in use (opening pages, starting the computer, etc…) but for the moment it seems to be fine.

Concerning the browser I will install the recommended modules in one of your workstations.

The starting up of the computer is a little long but well, the material is about ten years old so it is perhaps normal… I tried to see if I still had pages opening in the Download Area, except for an ad (which didn’t block the browser), no particular problems to report.

Age has little to do with the slowness of a pc, a starting list a little too loaded is enough to slow it down we will see on this side the one.

Ccleaner cleaning

Download

Ccleaner

  • Save this file to the desktop
  • Double click on the downloaded file to start the installation.
  • For Vista, Seven and Windows 8 right click on the downloaded file and Run as admin
  • Does not install Chrome
  • Installation complete

    • Start Ccleaner
    • Click on Cleaner
    • Tab Windows and in the box Advanced check only Old data from Prefetch
    • Tab Applications leaves all boxes checked
    • Click on the button Analysis then this one finished on Start the cleaning

When the cleaning is finished click on Tools ==> Start ===> tab Windows ===> click on Save to file… Post the content of this file as a link.

I’m used to a certain amount of latency so it’s hard to be objective… It takes about 1 minute 10 for Windows 7 to start up, then 2 minutes 20 for it to be operational. That is a total time of 3 minutes 30 (it should have taken 5 minutes before).

It’s not a clean bill of health yet, but it’s better, I’ll give you another scan:

Firefox must be configured to have the choice of where a file is saved.

Click on the menu

then on Options

On Will generatel tick Always ask where to save the files

FRST Scan

Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool on the desktop and not elsewhere

  • Right click on FRST64.exe selected Run as administrator to launch it
  • Leaves the boxes checked by default

  • Click on button Analyze
  • A report FRST.txt will be created on your desktop.
  • Post the contents of FRST.txt and the contents of addition.txt as a link using this file host http://www.cjoint.com/.

There is nothing suspicious in the two posted reports, we will check the integrity of the hard drive:

Scan CHKDSK

  • Click on Start ==> All programs ==> Accessories
  • Right click on Command prompt and Run as administrator
  • In the window that opens, type with spaces chkdsk c: /F/R valid per Input

To the following message:

Sent by :

CHKDSK cannot run because the volume is used by another process. Do you want this volume to be checked the next time the system reboots? (Y/N)

Click on O (yes)

Restarts the PC and patient until the scan is completed, which can take more than an hour.

To post the report:

  • Download Report_CHKDSK.exe (from Laddy))
  • Throw it with a double-click,
  • A report will be created and saved on the desktop under this name RapportCHK_[DD-MM-YYYYY] and will open,
  • Host the report on http://www.cjoint.com/

No more problems on the horizon.

It looks like we’re coming to the end, so if we are, I’d like to take this opportunity to ask a couple of questions to save some time:

-would it be better to make a backup of the system now that everything is clean?

-absolutely, I’m used to doing avast, ccleaner and malwarebytes scans, would it be better to continue using the software you made me download?

2) The tools I made you use will be removed, but you can still use Avast Ccleaner and Malwarebytes.

The disinfection of this pc is finished, we can move on to the final stage. All you have to do now is to clean the downloaded tools to disinfect your computer, then follow the safety instructions and move on to solve your topic as indicated at the end of my answer.

Deletion of downloaded tools.

These tools are updated several times a week and even daily for some of them and very quickly obsolete, hence the importance of removing them from the PC and downloading the latest version when disinfecting.

Delfix purge

  • Download Delfix (from Xplode) to your desktop.
  • Tick Remove disinfection tools
  • Tick Purge system restoration

  • Click on Execute

I give you some safety instructions:

  • Windows perfectly up to date.
  • Antivirus well set up and regularly updated (daily if necessary) with a regular full scan (daily if necessary).
  • A cautious attitude towards browsing (no dubious sites: cracks, warez, sex…) and towards messaging (files attached to messages must be scanned before being opened)
  • A vigilant attitude (being on the lookout for unusual system functioning)
  • Weekly scan with antimalware.
