  • Which subscription to watch football in streaming in 2020 (Ligue 1, Champions League, Europa League…)?

Canal+, beIN Sports, SFR, which becomes RMC… watching football in France in streaming, it’s not easy. Which subscription to choose? Which operator should be preferred? Can we have League 1, the Champions League and the Europa League in the same subscription? Our comprehensive guide to SVoD football 2019/2020 will answer all these questions.

After a relatively calm summer, marked by a few international competitions (Women’s World Cup, CAN and Copa America) and a restless but not too restless mercato (spoiler: Antoine Griezmann has signed for Barcelona, Neymar is still at PSG), the 2019/2020 football season has got off to a good start and the winter truce is coming to an end. After a remarkable boxing day in the United Kingdom, the championships are back on track. Ligue 1 makes its return on 10 January 2020, for example, but it won’t be until February to see Paris and Lyon in the Champions League.

Ligue 1, Ligue 2, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Premier League and, above all, the European Cups… there is always something to watch on television, but you need to have the right channels and the right subscriptions so that you don’t miss out on your favourite team or teams. A little guide to find your way between the offers of beIN Sports, Canal+ and RMC Sport, among other champions of sports rebroadcasting.

League 1 Conforama / Uber Eats

Which Subscription to Watch Football Streaming in 2020 (Ligue 1, Champions League, Europa League)?

To watch all the matches of the Conforama League 1 (which will become Uber Eats from 2020/2021), or the Talent League for the purists, every week, several solutions are available to you. In fact, while waiting for the big upheaval planned for the start of the new school year in 2020, nothing has changed since last season and the offer is still shared between two broadcasters: beIN Sports and its seven live matches on one side (the others are delayed), Canal+ and its three big posters on the other (one per day from Friday to Sunday).

How much does it cost?

  • I am a TV Operator customer (Orange, SFR, Bouygues, Fransat, Canal, Free): 15 euros per month, per offer, without commitment and excluding package ;
  • I want to use beIN Sports Connect: 15 euros per month, without obligation ;
  • I want to subscribe to Canal+: from 19.90 euros per month, no commitment ;
  • I want the beIN Sports + Canal+package: 39.90 euros per month (instead of 49.90 euros), with no commitment ;
  • I want the RMC Sport + Canal+ + beIN Sportspackage: €38.90 per month (for SFR box-office customers).

League 2 resumed at the end of July and, as in the previous year, Canal+ and beIN Sports share the calendar. For the Qatari channel, we are talking about nine matches per day (including multiplex), plus the delayed match, first broadcast live on Canal+ Sport.

The Champions League

Which Subscription to Watch Football Streaming in 2020 (Ligue 1, Champions League, Europa League)?

Since last season, SFR has recovered the broadcasting rights for European competitions, which means that beIN Sports and Canal+ no longer offer the Champions League on their channels. To watch the most beautiful European games, you will have to go through RMC Sport and, luckily, you don’t need to be an SFR subscriber to be entitled to it.

How much does it cost?

  • I am an SFR customer (box or mobile): 9 euros per month (instead of 19 euros), without commitment ;
  • I am not an SFR customer: 19 euros per month, no commitment ;
  • I want the RMC Sport + Canal+ + beIN Sportspackage: €38.90 per month (for SFR box-office customers).

Europa League

Which Subscription to Watch Football Streaming in 2020 (Ligue 1, Champions League, Europa League)?

SFR also holds the rights to Ligue Europa. It is therefore the same as for the Champions League, even if some matches should be broadcast on DTT channels, as has been the case in recent seasons.

The Premier League

Which Subscription to Watch Football Streaming in 2020 (Ligue 1, Champions League, Europa League)?

It’s the big change of the 2019/2020 season: the Premier League, considered to be the cream of the crop, has returned to Canal+ for the next three seasons. In its system, the encrypted channel promises to broadcast all 380 meetings (some of which will be offered on a deferred basis) and thematic programmes. Good prince, it has agreed to a co-broadcast with RMC Sport, which will continue to offer English football to its subscribers (in exchange for some Champions League posters?).

  • I am not an SFR customer: 19 euros per month, no commitment ;

La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga

Which Subscription to Watch Football Streaming in 2020 (Ligue 1, Champions League, Europa League)?

Although Cristiano Ronaldo has left La Liga for Serie A, the Spanish league remains a stronghold of European football. To see Lionel Messi et al, go to beIN Sports. The same is true of the Bundesliga and Serie A.

How much does it cost?

  • I am a TV Operator customer (Orange, SFR, Bouygues, Fransat, Canal, Free): 15 euros per month, per offer, without commitment and excluding package ;
  • I want to go through beIN Sports Connect: 15 euros per month, without obligation ;

Women’s football

Can we do more complex than men’s football at the TV broadcast level? Women’s football, which has finally gained the popularity it deserves thanks to the World Cup, is complex to watch in France – and don’t expect to see matches from other European divisions.

  • Les Bleues: M6 has the rights and broadcasts the matches of the French women’s team on W9. For 2019-2020, the group is considering switching to M6 to take advantage of the excitement of the World Cup. So it’s free.
  • D1 women’s: the French first division is broadcast by the Canal+group, which has rights until 2022-2023.
  • French Cup: the French Cup is broadcast by the France TV group. So it’s free.
  • Champions League: this league that only women win in France is divided into two players in the audiovisual sector. In 2019-2020, BeIN has the rights to PSG women’s home games. Canal+ had the rights for Olympique Lyonnais in 2018-2019. Contacted by Numerama, the Lyon press service has not yet come back to us.

The rest of football

In addition to all these competitions, we can also mention :

  • The matches of the French Team : TF1 and M6 ;
  • The League Cup: France Télévisions, Canal+ and Foot+ ;
  • The French Cup : France Télévisions and Eurosport ;
  • The Turkish championship: beIN Sports ;
  • The American championship: beIN Sports ;
  • FA Cup : beIN Sports ;
  • King’s Cup (Spanish Cup): beIN Sports.

Summarized

  • Only the big League 1 posters interest me: I subscribe to Canal+ ;
  • I want to see a maximum of Ligue 1 without paying too muchI subscribe to beIN Sports ;
  • The European jousting games are the only ones that I consider to have: I subscribe to RMC Sport ;
  • I prefer to see Messi and/or Ronaldo every weekI subscribe to beIN Sports ;
  • I love the English championship: I subscribe to RMC Sport or Canal+ ;
  • I don’t want to miss anything: I subscribe to Canal+’s sports pack, including beIN Sports, and to RMC Sport (for a total of about 65 euros) ;
  • I don’t want to miss anything but I am a SFRbox customer: I subscribe to the 100% football pack at 38.90 euros per month including RMC Sport, beIN Sports and Canal+.

  • Motorola’s Razr folding smartphone breaks down after only 27,000 openings

Motorala’s Razr has passed a first endurance test. And the results are disappointing.

The Motorola Razr enchants the press. But can it survive 100,000 open/close cycles? CNET wanted to verify this by passing the clamshell smartphone into the FoldBot robot. According to tests conducted by the media, Motorola’s product did not exceed 27,000 cycles – which is not much.

CNET expected results that matched the corrected version of the Galaxy Fold, which had lasted more than 10 hours and nearly 120,000 cycles. It is possible that the site has stumbled upon a faulty version of the Razr, purchased in stores, or that the FoldBot, supplied by an insurance company and designed for the Galaxy Fold, has not been sufficiently adapted.

What’s wrong with the Motorola Razr

CNET soon realized that something was wrong when they saw the FoldBot having trouble shutting down the Razr properly. ” I realized that the hinge was very stiff and strong when you wanted to close it, as if something was loose and was blocking it,” notes the reporter. He then manipulated the Razr, claiming that it did not work as hoped, but that it was still usable. In the video, you can hear a rather unpleasant thud.

Motorola did not give any precise figures on the strength of the Razr’s hinge, except that it is designed to survive two years (with an extensive warranty in the first year). If you look at your phone 100 times a day, the Razr won’t last that long (270 days, or less than a year). According to a study published in April 2016 by Apple, users unlock their iPhone on average 80 times a day.

While we will wait to see the Razr in real conditions before drawing firm conclusions, this experiment will not argue in favour of foldable phones. The problems encountered by the Galaxy Fold before its launch have cast a chill over the sector, which will have to prove itself in 2020. For example, there are high hopes for the Galaxy Z Flip, whose design should resemble that of the Razr. In the meantime, Motorola has already taken the lead in providing some user tips.
