Selection criteria for the KVPYexamination

  • Only Indian applicants are eligible for the KVPY SX scholarship program.

  • To be eligible for KVPY, students must achieve at least 75% of the cumulative 10th grade math and science score (65% for SC/ST/PwD).
  1. For SB Stream-
  • Students who are Indian nationals can apply for the KVPY scholarship program in the SB stream.
  • Candidates who have completed the first year in the 2020-21 academic year. Students who have completed their second year (UG courses) in science such as mathematics/physics/chemistry and biology in the major subjects (B.Math/B.Sc/BS/Int, M.Sc/MS/B.Stat) are eligible for the KVPY scholarship test.
  • Candidates belonging to the general category must obtain at least 60% marks and candidates opting for the reserved quota (SC/ST/PWD) must obtain at least 50% marks in science subjects in the mid-term examination.
  • Students should score at least 60% (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) in the final examination of the first year of B.Math/B.Stat./B.Sc/Integrated M.Sc/MS) to get the scholarship.

Age limit:

The age criteria for each stream may be different. The age requirements for each stream are as follows:

  1. For the SA catchment area – Students applying for the SA catchment area must be over the age of 16.
  2. For SX-Stream – The minimum age for SX-Stream is 17 years.
  3. For the SB stream – Students must be 18 years old to apply for the SB stream.
