Diop joins Long, Mustafi on Klopp’s wanted list.
Liverpool are considering signing West Ham United defender Issa Diop, according to Athletic.
It’s no secret that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is still looking for a centre-back to fill the gap in his injured defence. Aaron Long of the New York Reds Bulls and Shkodran Mustafi of Arsenal have also become the main contenders for Diop, according to ESPN and Evening Standard.

Diop, 24, has made 69 appearances for the Hammers since arriving from Toulouse in 2018 but has lost favour with his manager David Moyes.
The central defender, who has only played in the French U-21 team, hopes a transfer to Anfield could boost his career.
MLS star Long received a loan offer from an anonymous league club on Saturday that was rejected, meaning Klopp’s team is still in the running for the 28-year-old American international.

– Arsenal are considering signing Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt, reports the Mirror. Mikel Arteta is apparently looking for another left-back to replace Kieran Tierney before the January window closes, and with Van Aanholt just six months removed from his contract, the Eagles may be tempted to give him some money before he eventually leaves on a free transfer.
– Calciomercato reports that Torino are going ahead with the signing of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani. The defender is currently on loan to Rennes and many believe he will return to the Old Lady for another stint in the first team, but the Turin side are hoping to take advantage of the situation by signing him themselves.
– Trabzonspor appear to have put a stop to the signing of Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur, reports TalkSPORT. Despite the fact that Rose would apparently be travelling to Turkey, the club’s chairman said it would be very difficult to finalise the deal as it would take a lot of time, perhaps suggesting that the problem was to do with COVID-19’s quarantine rules.
