Valheim is based on the concept that all fallen Vikings are sent to the world of Valheim to prove themselves worthy of the halls of Valhalla.  According to Norse mythology, there are nine kingdoms, and all nine are inhabited by mortal or divine beings. Iron Gate, also known as the creators of the game, has released a new and tenth volume. Introducing a realm called Valheim, where otherworldly creatures so dominate and occupy the realm that even Odin is afraid to set foot there. The story of Valheim is just a small interpretation of Norse mythology, as the game contains many references to mythological history.

Walheim World Mythology

Allfather Odin has brought the worlds together and united them. He threw his enemies into the 10th. World, known as Valheim, and split the branch that held the kingdom to the World Tree to leave Valheim unattended, an outcast. When Odin realized that his enemies in the 10th century… With the power of the Empire restored, he turned to Midgard and sent his Valkyries to the battlefields to seek out the best fallen warriors who had died for the world, but would be reborn in the world of Valheim. God instructs the fallen Vikings (the players) to cleanse the kingdom of his destructive creatures so they can turn the kingdom into a Valhalla-like paradise.

Valheim Start

As in most survival games, the player begins their journey with a void and makes progress at each stage. Survival in Valheim seems simple enough at first glance, you collect wood and stones, but it’s not as simple as it seems, as you can die just by chopping down a tree.

The beauty of the prairie is only a mask for what lies behind it. Once you’re done setting up your character and map, you’ll be greeted by an introduction screen and see a Valkyrie transporting you to the realm. Once Valkyrie throws you into the forest, you are in imminent danger, and once there is danger, you need protection. In the beginning of the game, when you are dropped in the forest, you are very weak and can be killed by the weakest mobs. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is to build a house right away, but that’s not the right solution. They make progress over time with limited resources.

You begin your journey alone as a Valkyrie drops you off in the forest. You should start by gathering the basic resources.

Wood: When Valkyrie drops you off in the woods, it’s the easiest and richest material, available to you. They can collect wood in the form of sticks on the ground or cut down trees. This will allow you to build many items in the game, as you unlock different recipes. You can make workbenches, walls and roofs for shelter, and a hammer.

Stone: With wooden sticks on the ground, stone is the second material you will have no trouble finding, as you can easily pick up the stones when you find them. This will also unlock different recipes that you can use. It can be used to make stone axes and picks.

Flint: Flint is another important material that you will need at the beginning of the game. You need it to make weapons like a flint spear, flint arrowheads and a flint axe. Flint is easily found on the ground near the beaches.

Leather flaps: The leather pieces are obtained by killing wild boar and deer. This is very important in the beginning of the game, because you need it to make not only armor, but also bows and ships.

Bronze: Bronze is an important metal that you get after defeating Eiktir, the first boss. Only then can you exploit the copper and tin ores. When you melt them, you get bronze metal that can be used to make armor and weapons.

Shallow wood : The fine wood can come from pines in the Black Forest biome or from birches and oaks in the meadows. It is an important material for the manufacture of tools, weapons and parts.

Iron: The iron waste is in the muddy waste piles in the swamp biome. After defeating the second boss, the Ancient One, you can go to the swamp biome. Iron can be obtained from scrap by melting it. You can create improved tools and weapons, including an iron axe, an iron longsword, an iron stake, and a stone carver.

Silver: You can find silver ore in a mountainous biome with an iron pickaxe after defeating the third boss, Bonemass. You can smelt ore, which earns you money that you can use to upgrade your equipment, such as a freeze chest, a silver sword, and wolf armor.

Black metal: Black Metal is the strongest material in the game. Mainly used for weapons and armour. You can get it in a normal biome after killing Fulings. The ferrous metal can be melted in a blast furnace, creating a bar of ferrous metal. Objects that can be made include a black metal sword, an axe and a shield.

In the beginning, you will find wood and stones that will unlock the most basic recipes, which you can use to make the available items. The more items you get, the more recipes you unlock that can be made with a particular collected item.

  • Start by loading the burner. This keeps you safe from the mob, as they can’t attack you as long as you have the gear.
  • You can gather wood by cutting down trees or picking up branches from the ground. You can collect stones by picking them up from the ground.
  • Then make a stone axe from the collected wood and stone. You can use an axe to chop down trees to get wood faster, and you can also use an axe to protect yourself from greylings and boars. Watch out for falling trees. You don’t want to stand right in the path of a falling tree, because it will kill you.

The next step would be to scout some terrain and find a good hiding place.

  • It doesn’t have to be very luxurious; you can have a very simple hut or even an old abandoned hut that you can find in random places.
  • Try to keep your location close to the coast for easy access to Flint.
  • In the meadows there are raspberries and mushrooms, which should be picked and eaten regularly. This gives you care and, over time, a little boost to maximum HP.

Once you’ve finally decided on a location for your shelter or storage facility, you should start construction as soon as possible.

  • The first thing you need is to make a silencer. Of course, you’ll have to make a starter tool to do more things, right? Now that you’ve made a hammer, you can make a workbench. You should now build a small basic shelter, which should cover at least one bench and include a bed with a fire. Don’t forget to leave an open space above the fire so the smoke can escape!

Sleep at night and avoid being outside at night as much as possible. Try to pack in daylight. The basic elements you need to collect,

  • Now try camping near the coast, as suggested above. You can just ask Flint to come to the beach, and with him you can start building weapons. Make it a flintax. Since you have nothing to work with at first, the flint axe will be your main tool and weapon for a while.
  • Next, you’ll need scraps of leather to make a bow and arrow. You can collect leather by hunting bears. Wild boar are very easy to kill. Just run after them and hit them with an axe, and voila, flesh and skin obtained!
  • Now that you have a bow, you can start hunting deer. To make the game a little more realistic, the arrow will fall down when you shoot the bow, so make sure you aim just above your head from a distance. After getting deerskins, you can start making leather armor. Make a cutting block to upgrade your equipment to level 2. You can also create a tanning rack to further expand your equipment.

You need to set up cooking stations over your campfire and start cooking the meat you got from the bears and deer. Meat gives you more health and stamina. Try to find abandoned houses. Some of these houses will have beehives. You can use the bow to destroy the hives. Sometimes hives don’t drop queens. Once you have acquired a queen bee, you can start building your own hives that will produce honey. Honey is the best healing food (even during a boss fight!).

Established

Desktops is your one-stop shop for making everything in Walheim. This is probably the item you will use the most in the entire game. They use it to make weapons and armor, but also to make structures that could not be accomplished without the workbench. Making one is pretty easy. You need ten pieces of wood and you’re good to go.

The workbench you create in the beginning will take you through many levels. However, you will need to upgrade it for future weapons and armor. The workbench you make at the beginning of the game is the standard first level workbench. It is not necessary to upgrade from the beginning, but it will become necessary over time. The next update will be for level 2.

Level 2 – Block Bench Section : If you’ve used up all the resources in the default version of Workbench, it’s time to upgrade! The recipe for grinding workbench blocks assumes you already have a standard workbench and combine it with a piece of flint. The workbench itself is made of 10x flint and 10x wood.

Level 3 is the sunbed: This is where it gets interesting. and combine that with the Workbench chopping block. However, it takes a lot of resources to establish a bank. You need the basic 10x wood and 10x flint, but you also need to get 20x scraps of leather and 5x deerskin.

Level 4 – Adze Workbench: The final workbench that allows you to create the most powerful weapons and armor in the game is the Adze Workbench. To build a workbench, you need fine wood and bronze nails. These nails can be found by melting down bronze rods.

Forging adjustment

Besides the obvious needs for a workbench, you also need a forge to really improve the quality of the materials you can make. The Forge gives you the ability to make a lot more cool stuff that you wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Like the workbenches, the forge can be improved in stages. Once you have a max level workbench and a forge, you can make just about any crafting item in the game.

To make a first level forge, you need charcoal, copper, stone and wood. There are two ways to obtain charcoal. You can either put the wood in the charcoal fire and wait a while, or leave the meat on the fire and let it rest for a while. However, the last option may take some time. The following improvements : Anvils, forging bellows, forging coolers, forging tool holders and grinding wheels. For the anvil you need x5 wood and x2 bronze. Forged bellows require x5 antlers, x5 deer hides and x4 chains. The blacksmith’s cooler goes even further and requires x25 of fine wood and x10 of copper. The tool rack requires x10 wood and x15 iron. For a grinding wheel, wood x25 and a grinding stone will suffice, requiring a stonemason.

Revenue

The recipes in Valheim are quite simple and easy to come by. In most cases, they are automatically unlocked when you unlock the right materials for your creation. Once you have the means to unlock a recipe, it will automatically appear. When you search for a replacement flint, you unlock the recipe for a flint arrow, flint knife, etc. You can also google the recipe for what you are trying to make and find the ingredients for that recipe.

Most recipes don’t take that much effort. But there are also some that require you to go to a distant land and win a certain material to unlock a recipe. More recipes are given when you defeat bosses and complete quests. Make sure you are always looking for recipes. They can pop up in the most random places!
