Their T-Force sub-brand caters specifically to gamers, and their latest DDR4 DARK Z FPS mounts are all about making those mounts and ensuring you get the smoothest gaming experience to dominate the game. Here’s our TEAMGROUP T-Force DARK Z FPS DDR4 gaming memory review, where we compare T-Force’s latest offering to some of the big names in the market and see if it really gives you an extra boost in gameplay.

Technical data

Let’s start with the specifications of the TEAMGROUP T-Force DARK Z FPS DDR4 card. The test sample we received from TEAMGROUP was an 8GB x 2, dual-channel 16GB drive running at 4000MHz at CL16-18-18. These are really impressive numbers to begin with. In its default settings, it uses a voltage of 1.45 V and has a data rate of 32,000 MB/s (PC4 32000). An attractive aluminum heat sink is included for cooling. TEAMGROUP’s T-Force DARK Z FPS DDR4 does not have RGB on the cards, so they default higher on the list of players looking for non-RGB memory for stealth builds.

What’s in the box?

TEAMGROUP T-Force DARK Z FPS DDR4 comes in a fairly standard package with two memory labels inside. Besides the sticks, you will also find a warranty booklet and a T-Force sticker for your chassis in the package.

Test Bench

We tested the TEAMGROUP T-Force DARK Z FPS DDR4 on two different PCs. One uses the new AMD 5000 series processor and the Radeon 6000 series GPU, while the other uses the previous generation AMD processor, the 3000, and the Radeon 5000 series GPU.

We will not include detailed benchmarks from the previous generation, as the AMD Ryzen 3700X we used was unable to run the TEAMGROUP T-Force DARK Z FPS DDR4 at 4000 MHz with full use of Infinity Fabric.

It runs great in overclocked mode, but we lowered the frequency to 3600 MHz and were able to run frames at CL14 latency settings at standard voltage with the Ryzen 3700X, which added 1-2 frames in all the games we tried it with.

To use TEAMGROUP T-Force DARK Z FPS DDR4, you will need a new AMD Ryzen 5000 GPU or Intel CPUs. For the following benchmarks, our test bank had these characteristics:

  • PROCESSIVE: AMD Ryzen 5600X
  • Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X570-E
  • GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 6800
  • PSU: Corsair RM850x
  • SSD: Samsung 850 Evo

Benchmarks :

Below you will find all the benchmarks we have done with the above products. Test bench with TEAMGROUP T-Force DARK Z FPS 16GB DDR4 memory modules. We ran two different benchmarks for each game – one at 1080p and one at 1440p. The competitors we compare these frames to are G.Skill Trident Z 3600 CL16 2×8, 16GB DDR4 and Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200 CL16 2×16, 32GB DDR4.

We can clearly see that the increase in frequency gives the DDR4 TEAMGROUP T-Force DARK Z FPS a noticeable advantage, especially in 1080p. The higher the resolution, the smaller the difference, since the processor and graphics processor play a bigger role at higher resolutions.

Final decision:

TEAMGROUP T-Force DDR4 DARK Z FPS is a reliable product thanks to its high speed of 4000 MHz and easy overclockability. Good overclocking support means you can potentially lower the maximum frequency and get even lower latency to further minimize lag in games and provide a great experience on CL14. It’s a great complement to DDR4 memory options, and with support for Intel and AMD processors right out of the box, it’s a great choice for a variety of builds. The lack of RGB and glossy black color make it ideal for camouflage mounts. As our benchmarks above have shown, the TEAMGROUP T-Force DARK Z FPS DDR4 memory is the memory for you if you are looking for a memory that can increase frame rates in all games with the same settings, as a simple upgrade to this memory will allow you to get the most out of your system. Also, for competitive players who care about all the perks, these rams are the perfect choice for an upgrade.
