Presentation King Arthur The Legend of Excalibur

Everyone knows King Arthur, maybe not his story, but at least his name. It must be said that it is one of the best known legends to this day. After many other adaptations for the cinema or even the theatre, this time it is Guy Ritchie who offers us a remake of the legend with the title King Arthur: The Legend of Excalibur (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword).

Synopsis and Trailer

Young Arthur lives on the outskirts of Londinium with his gang. He ignores the immense destiny that awaits him, until the day he seizes Excalibur. Arthur must then make difficult choices and joins the Resistance, notably with the mysterious Guinevere. He must learn to master the magic sword, overcome his demons and inner fears in order to unite the Breton people to defeat Vortigern, Arthur’s uncle.

A 5-star cast, but not that…

Indeed, in terms of casting, we have something to be happy about. In the lead role of King Arthur, we find Charlie Hunnam, but other big names join the cast: Jude Law (Vortigern), Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey (Guenièvre), Eric Bana (Uther Pendragon) and Djimon Hounsou (Bédivère)…

That’s it? That’s it? Beware prepare yourself well because we also find a well-known person in the role of a cameo, since it is David Beckham playing a soldier, Blackleg (perfectly recognizable despite his scar), and this will certainly be the only funny part of the film.

The beginning of a long series ?

The project was originally announced in 2010, with John Hodge as writer and Guy Ritchie as director. Starting in January 2014, Warner Bros announced its intention to create a six-film franchise. It remains to be seen whether this will actually happen. Anyway, for all the lovers of big special effects and really epic slow motion, the idea of having a sequel would simply be enjoyable.

This movie looks like an unspeakable smoking dung.

They should stop taking the names of legends and characters from Folklore and turn it into a story that has nothing to do with it, which is just a pretext for a fight, without any depth.

The Arthurian legend is not the story of an exiled prince who picks up a sword on a rock and goes off to kick everyone’s ass to regain the power he was destined to have, in the manner of Tony Montana in the 6th century.

Clearly, like Alien C., the opinions of the spectators are super negative, but the press opinions are all unanimous that it is a masterpiece …

Anyway, the movie sucks, I felt like I saw a mix between GOT and Assassin Creed at times.

What, your mum’s name’s Martha too??! Come on, let’s make peace and be great buddies! Kisses I love you

If the idea was good, it was rather badly implemented, but visually … this film remains a huge slap in the face!

Ah, even I don’t think it’s a good idea! As for the visuals, carte is beautiful, but it’s just normal in this day and age for a film of this budget.

n’t make you want to… The script is still a super important element, so I don’t really understand your note.

It received a bad mark for the script, barely the average, the other marks not taking into account the script and being totally independent of each other, that’s why the film still manages to get a good mark.

The time and the situation as a whole implied that we should take up this legend again to understand its full meaning with regard to Christianity, its split announced as early as the Middle Ages with Protestantism, the modernism to come and the theme of the son (Mordred) who kills the father and the old school that lost the Grail (Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, round like a clock with 12 digits…CQFD). Changing what is important in this abstract and meaningful work for the benefit of a blockbuster is almost a crime, if we assume that the more we are disinherited from our History, the more we commit suicide, the more we oppose… or the more we behave like apathetic sheep capable of killing their children’s future without the slightest shame Goodbye Democrats, Goodbye Republicans, Hello Silicon Valley and Mr. Trump, Goodbye Left, Goodbye Right, Goodbye Christianity, Goodbye God, Allah or Adonai… Hello New-Age and all marching towards the New World Order of happy fools …

You’re all fucking idiots, forgive the expression, but the comments are appalling… Most people spit on the film without even seeing it just because some media gave it a bad mark. And then it’s about the fashion for lame blockbusters, but we’re talking about the fashion to keep on bashing a movie? I wasn’t expecting much when I went to see this movie, and I was incredibly surprised. Because, quick reminder, this is directed by Guy Ritchie, the guy who made Sherlock Holmes. The film is anything but flat, it tests new elements in its realization and offers us something really interesting. But no olalala it’s a blockbuster in which there is no Lancelot, it’s not respectful to the legend blahblahblah… I am a big fan of the Arthurian legend, but I also know how to accept when a director wants to offer us his version of things, his interpretation of a story already very free of interpretation. He did the same thing with Sherlock Holmes and the movies were great. And the same goes for this one…

oki burgy, your commentary is without commentary, which is…appalling, truly appalling and distressing, this film is a total flop, not the slightest charisma, dialogues leaving me speechless, in short, flat, dead encephalogram, that you find this film genial is of the order of complete and total surrealism…one hour and a half of torture

I liked it a lot, you can recognize the style of guy Ritchie after you like it or not… I like it. When you’ve seen snatch you recognize the paw…
