Rakuten: Get the Gopro Hero 8 Black at a Great Price of 279

Today, thanks to the RAKUTEN30 coupon (30€ free for 299€ of purchase) it is on Rakuten that you can get the GoPro Hero 8 Black at a great price: 279,99 euros!

The GoPro Hero 8 Black offers a different design than its predecessors (Hero 5 Black, Hero 6 Black and Hero 7 Black). The case is still waterproof, slightly larger but less thick. Why? Simply because the Hero 8 Black directly integrates the GoPro universal attachment system. This eliminates the need for an external cage to attach the GoPro to your accessories, which saves a lot of space. While the body is thinner, GoPro has redesigned the Hero 8 Black’s lens to be thicker and therefore more resistant, from 1.3mm to 2mm thick, not negligible for action fans. And since we’re talking about the lens, you should know that it’s now possible to switch between the different viewing angles in full video. Convenient.

The Hero 7 Black had brought the HyperSmooth stabilization technology, which proved to be quite impressive, even if it was a bit of a cut on the picture. Here is, on the GoPro Hero 8 Black, HyperSmooth 2.0, even more stable by default and above all, which works on any resolution and viewing angle. Yes, it’s functional on 4K at 60fps and a linear viewing angle. In addition to this, there is a HyperSmooth Boost option that crops the image a bit more but in exchange allows to boost the stabilization. But that’s not all, if you go through the GoPro application (iOS and Android), it is able to detect the horizon and automatically straighten your video. That’s very convenient. Finally, the application has been redesigned with a new engine, better optimized and more fluid, and most importantly, it works as well with the content of your GoPro as it does with your phone.

We also move on to TimeWarp 2.0 where the real novelty lies in the use of the accelerometer to automate the intervals, which is very practical in reality. But that’s not all, the GoPro Hero 8 Black allows you to take a break and return to normal speed! No more speed ramps in post-production.

While the user interface has not changed much, it is faster, more fluid and brings some interesting new features such as the profile management which allows you to define your settings in advance and thus avoid having to go over them on a case-by-case basis. Thus, the GoPro 8 Black comes with default profiles: Cinematic, Sport, Idle, Standard. So it’s up to you to add your own profiles according to the videos you are looking for. We will also note that Live streaming (Facebook and Youtube) has been further improved since we now support 1080p streaming.

On the photo side, the Hero 8 Black improves its offer by proposing a better HDR mode and especially the LiveBurst function which allows to take a burst before (1.5 sec) and after (1.5 sec) the shutter release for a better selection of the right photo. If you have to choose the photo of course, these bursts (90 in total) can be saved as a small 4K clip of 3 seconds.

The GoPro Hero 8 Black inaugurates a mod system and yes, GoPro is clearly targeting GoPro users in Vlog mode. On the Hero 8 Black, GoPro has already redesigned its microphone system to place one on the front, which provides better sound pickup, but it’s obvious that this may not be enough for the more Vlogger-minded among you. So we start with the Media Mod, a cage integrating a micro shotgun with a 3.5mm microphone input, a Micro-HDMI output a USB-C port and two flash claws. In addition, there is the Display Mod, a 2″ external display that incorporates its own 680mAh battery and can be rotated 180°. Finally, the Light Mod, a 200 lumens mini-torch, waterproof, shock-resistant and optimized for video.
