Big news for the successful series Orange is the New Black ! While it was only due to make its comeback on June 9th with its season 5 on Netflix, a group of pirates decided otherwise and made it available online. Hearing Netflix blackmailing and not planning to stop there, he even threatens other unpublished series.

One month. This is the time left before the next long awaited season starts on Netflix. And the service won’t see the day of this fanfare since it has been hacked by a group of hackers called The Dark Overlord (TDO). This is thanks to a vulnerability in Larson Studios(an audio post-production company often used by television studios). TDO then demanded 50 Bitcoins, which is the equivalent of 66,000 euros, before broadcasting the pirated content. Netflix did not give in to blackmail, however, and the hackers then carried out their threat. And icing on the cake, it is out of the question for them to stop there and they argue that the series in question is not the only one they would have. Indeed, they would also own six films (such asWin it all, currently available on Netflix), 28 TV series (includingNew Girl,OITNB,Superhuman), a new programme for YouTube Red (Liza Koshy Special) and a short film (Hum).
The whole of season 5 would therefore be available in streaming…
…and downloading (illegal, of course).
But how far will they go?
For the group of hackers, it is indeed a game, , because, as if to prove his point, he has provided the website with evidence on the new season ofOrange Is The New Black, xXx Reactivated, or the season 1 ofBill Nye Saves the World(released on 21 April). And as if that wasn’t enough, other channels such as ABC, CBS, NBC, E!, IFC, National Geographic or Fox would also be threatened.
