Over 25 unique lots Support for scholarships for local high schools

On Monday, March 29, the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance (PRWCA) announced the launch of the first-ever Paso Robles Wine Country Virtual Auction. The auction starts on Monday, May 10 and lasts until Sunday, May 16. May.

The online auction includes more than 25 lots from more than 50 Paso Robles wineries, including wineries, hotels, restaurants and travel and vacation companies.

The items specially selected for the auctions are exclusive packages that are not available in the shops. The wineries offer not only wine, but luxury accommodations in wine country, winemaker dinners at some of Paso Robles’ best restaurants, informative vineyard tours, and rare and specialty wines.

Proceeds from Wine Country’s virtual auction benefit the Paso Robles Wine Country Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that gives something back to the community, primarily through scholarships for aspiring students.

As noted above, the online auction will run for a week, from May 10 through May 16, which in the past has preceded the traditional date of the annual Paso Robles Wine Festival.

With current COVID-19 restrictions and limitations on large gatherings, the Paso Robles Wine Country Online Auction provides an opportunity to showcase the wine country lifestyle to customers and bidders from across the country.

The French Family Affair invites the families of L’Aventure, Clos Solène and Benom to a dinner for six at Les Petites Canailles, a chic French gourmet restaurant, at the best price. Another unique inter-brand experience in Paso Robles brings a group of eight to Sixmilebridge, where owner Jim Moroney treats guests to lunch with winemaker Anthony Yount. The dinner also includes wines from other Anthony’s brands, including Denner Vineyards and Royal Nonesuch Farms.

There are also no prizes for the highest bidder, such as the complete set of the current edition (12 bottles) of Saxum wines, as well as two signed 1.5 litre magnums. Another hard-to-find lot is the Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon vintage series, which includes 2015 – 2019 vintages, as well as two signed large format bottles from 2017 and 2018.

Overnight stays range from three nights in a luxury house for six at Turley Wine Cellars to an equally luxurious stay for two at the new Geneseo Inn on Cass Winery’s 145-acre property. These stops and many other ultra cool experiences are up for auction, ready to be won.

Although the Paso Robles Wine Country Virtual Auction doesn’t start until Monday the 10th. The month of May has begun, the lottery tickets have already been entered online. Equally exciting is the new online auction format that allows Paso wine lovers around the world to participate in raising money that will be donated to our local community through our foundation.

This auction uses the Greater Giving online auction platform, which allows for paperless bidding. Bidders use a smartphone, tablet or desktop computer to bid on lots and can easily track lots by logging their activity without constantly returning to a board or bid form.

For the past 15 years, the Paso Robles Country Wine Alliance Foundation has supported the local community by providing high school scholarships. These scholarships help young people enrolled in college or vocational training get some extra money to ease the burden of tuition, supplies, travel, etc. while they plan for their future. The Paso Robles wine community takes pride in helping the next generation achieve their goals.
