NVIDIA Confirms End of Support for Kepler-Based GeForce GTX and GeForce GT Graphics Cards Later This Year

NVIDIA is ending support for the GeForce GTX and GeForce GT GPUs that run on the Kepler architecture later this year. The Kepler architecture is being abandoned since NVIDIA’s GPUs have reached their end of life, and NVIDIA is no longer developing drivers for them.

NVIDIA has posted a new GeForce Driver page on their website, stating that their Kepler-based GeForce GTX 500 series and GeForce GT series graphics cards are no longer supported.

In late September, NVIDIA announced that it will be retiring its Kepler family of graphics cards. The GeForce GTX 780 Ti, which was launched back in 2012, and the GeForce GTX 970M, which launched in 2014, are some of the last cards in the Kepler line. This means that there’s a good chance the GTX 780 Ti will be going on sale for less than the suggested retail price of $750, and the GTX 970M may only be available for a permanent price cut..
