a terrible déjà vu feeling, especially for James Bond fans, the release of No Time to Die was delayed again. MGM shocked the industry last year when it announced that a theatrical release scheduled for April would be postponed due to growing health and safety concerns around the world. As the same concerns persist and don’t seem to be abating, the studio has decided to postpone Daniel Craig’s final Bond once again.

The film has been delayed several times. He would be the last one on line two. Arriving in April. As confirmed by the official James Bond Social Media articles, No Time to Die will now be released on the 8th. October 2021 in cinemas. A poster featuring Daniel Craig’s 007 came out with No Time to Die on the 8th. October 2021 completed. It has been predicted in recent weeks that such a move is inevitable given the current state of theatres. Most movie theaters in the United States are now closed. The result: The cash register keeps falling apart.
POWERFUL : The next No Time to Die delay could cause another huge ripple on the Release Date
It’s a challenge for a film of this magnitude. To do this, MGM and the distributors need a certain amount of money. No Time to Die is said to have a production budget of over $200 million. While films like Troll World Tour and Bill and Ted Face Music are relatively successful with multiplatform releases including premium VOD distribution, a Bond film simply n’t make enough money this way. And a global theatrical release would certainly be lethal in the current climate. Considering that Craig’s four previous films as MI6’s iconic spy have collectively earned over $3 billion at the box office the decision to delay the film again was probably not a wise financial decision.
The film is directed by Kari Joji Fukunaga (Monsters Without a Nation). The cast includes Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, Lea Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Jeffrey Wright, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris. Lynch, it has been confirmed, will play the new 007 who will take the helm at MI6 in Bond’s absence. Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek is on board to play the main villain Safin.
Meanwhile, MGM has spent a lot of money so far to bring the film to market. They’ve released several trailers, posters with previous dates, and even ran an ad during last year’s Super Bowl It’s been expensive, no doubt. For the theatres, it’s another blow they may not be able to take. With box office going poorly and the delay of major films scheduled for the first half of 2021, they are hanging on by a thread. AMC, America’s largest film chain, has been out of business for months and is hoping to do better. We’ll let you know as soon as we have more details.
