Netflix will finally produce “The Beverly Hills Cop 4”! In partnership with Paramount Studios, the streaming service is actively preparing for the return of the famous Axel Foley. In the role of the policeman, we will obviously find the actor Eddy Murphy.
“The Beverly Hills Cop 4” will finally become a reality after years of waiting, rumors and failed projects. According to our colleagues at Deadline, Netflix has just signed a new single license agreement with Paramount to produce the sequel to the saga, whose last opus dates back to 1994. The partnership also includes the production of a fifth film. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean…) is also involved in the project.
Unsurprisingly, Eddy Murphy will reprise the role of the main character, the resourceful detective Axel Foley. The 58-year-old actor is currently multiplying collaborations with Netflix. Recently, Murphy recently starred in the film “Dolemite Is My Name”, which recently landed on the platform. Once the filming of The Beverly Hills Cop is completed, the actor will also produce a series of stand-ups in partnership with the VOD department.
According to Deadline, the film is being directed by Belgian videographers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Names such asTom Hardy and Channing Tatum would also have been attached to the project. The two actors are reportedly in negotiations with Paramount for the role of a rival POLICE OFFICER to Axel Foley. This information has yet to be confirmed.
