Viewers of Channel 4’s Outback Murder were stunned Sunday night after new evidence emerged in the murder of Peter Falconio.

Peter, a British backpack went missing in 2001 while on holiday with his girlfriend Joanna Fox.

They were at the end of their journey and crossed the Australian outback when Peter was last seen.

According to Joanne, Peter was shot and his body was never found, although she claims she escaped the kidnapping when she was rescued by the truck driver.

In 2005 Bradley Murdock was convicted of the murder of Peter and the mistreatment of his girlfriend Joanne on the Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory.

The conviction was based primarily on a DNA match to Joan’s shirt.

In a documentary film called Murder in the Outback: The mystery of Falconio and Lee, the truck driver Vince Millar who found Joan, revealed unheard of evidence to defense attorney Andrew Fraser.

In the first part of the documentary Vince claims to have seen the lights of the cars spinning in the distance before he noticed Joan.

And before he saw them running through the street, he also claimed to have seen two men tie the third man up like jam in a red car.

There was something you didn’t want to show me. I’m sure it was Peter Falconio. He told Andreas.

Viewers quickly twittered after the interview with many questions about why Vince hadn’t mentioned this evidence before.

A viewer made a comment: Clear question. Then why didn’t he tell anyone about the importance of the red car?

Another tweet: Why didn’t he ever mention any of this information?

As they added: What do you say now? Why didn’t the truck ever tell anyone about a red car before 2017?

The man who swims like a jellyfish! Or someone who may have been shot… and you didn’t bother to say anything important, like the police, but you told your friends, so it’s okay, the big guy you picked up with your cigarette…

Why didn’t he mention the red car and the traffic jam? If the shot with the blood came from the wrong place, where was it? Why weren’t there any footprints or paw prints to find her? So many questions § #MurderInTheOutback §

Homicide inland: The mystery of Falconio and Fox returns on Monday the 8th. June, back on channel 4 at 9:15.
