Anna Lundberg, Michael Sheen’s partner, said the production of the comedy was a success because it reflected “people’s everyday struggles.”

The actress appeared in a private show with Michael and married couple David and Georgia Tennant.

In the series, the actors play fictional versions of themselves as the pandemic disrupts their personal and professional lives.

Anna said that many of the other broadcasts discussing the pandemic were “very heavy and reflective of what was happening in the world at that time.”

The staging is a different approach, she says, “By the time we got there, that was all that was difficult, and it was just kind of silly, which I think relieved a lot of people.

“Without really ignoring what was going on, you could bring a little bit of comedy to the daily struggles that everyone was going through, and I think a lot of people needed that at that time.”

Georgia Tennant said the program “reflects what everyone is dealing with, but at the same time we never talked about Covid-19.

She added that the creation of the program was “therapeutic.”

“My character in season 1 and season 2 reflected a lot of how I felt about the pandemic, so I think I brought elements of those extreme emotions,” she said.

I might say, “I’m out of touch, I’m bored, I’m frustrated or I’m feeling all positive.”

Georgia Tennant said, “I think the moment we found out Samuel L. Jackson was in it will stay with us forever.”

I think it was a moment where we thought, “Oh, man, this is a real thing that’s definitely going to be on TV now, because it’s in there.

“I don’t think it really felt like it until then.

She added that filming at home with “only David as a spectator” meant there was “no sense of shame in front of the others.”

Anna agreed, saying that the only equipment she and Michael had at home “was a kitchen lamp, so there was no lighting or anything, and it was only real when it was on TV, because we never left the house.”

“It was a little strange in that regard.”

A box set of the first and second seasons will be available on February 15.
