Configuration aol mail on mobile
Good morning, sir,
I have a samsung player style i and a subscription at orange.
I would like to configure my mailbox on my mobile phone in order to be able to receive my aol mail on it and also to be able to send mail to any type of email address.
I tried to configure with different things, I also went on the orange site, but it n’t work neither receiving nor sending.
I’ll give you the various parameters I entered:
Account name : Aol mail
SMTP server: smtp.orange.fr
SMTP port : 25
Secure connection : OFF
Incoming server type : IMAP4
IMAP4 Server: imap.fr.aol.com
IMAP4 Port : 143
APOP connection : Gray
Secure Connection : OFF
Download limit : 300
Incoming IMAP4 e-mail : New
Recovery Options : Subject only
Keep on server: checked
My address :
…@aol.com
Username : …
Password : …
POP before SMTP : Gray
Auth SMTP : Ticked
Same as POP3/IMAP4 : Checked
Username : Grey
Password : Shaded
If anyone can see where the problem comes from, thank you in advance.

The smtp should not be that of orange but that of aol 
I think this is the problem 
SMTP Server: smtp.neuf.fr
IMAP Server: imap.fr.aol.com

No, actually the smtp is the sending server, so the orange one.
I made some modifications and I can now send but still not retrieve the emails. Here are my changes:
Account name : mail Orange
SMTP server : smtp.orange.fr
SMTP port : 25
Secure connection : OFF
Incoming server type : IMAP4
IMAP4 Server: imap.fr.aol.com
IMAP4 Port : 143
APOP connection : Gray
Secure Connection : OFF
Download limit : 300
Incoming IMAP4 e-mail : New
Recovery Options : Subject only
Keep on server: checked
My address :
…@aol.com
Username :
Password: xxxxxx
POP before SMTP : Shaded and checked
Auth SMTP : No Ticked
Same as POP3/IMAP4 : Grey
Username : Grey
Password : Shaded

I’ve tried both, it n’t change anything. I don’t see what the problem is.

For your information, here’s the configuration that works:
Here is the configuration to do on your Samsung Player style i :
You must first make sure that the internet access is working before starting the configuration.
Menu > Message > Settings > E-mail > Configuration Wizard
Select ok
Select other e-mail accounts
Account name enter the name of your mailbox (your choice)
Select Next
Enter the email address of your email address
Enter the password of your email address
Select Next
Type of incoming server POP3 / IMAP4
POP3 server pop.aol.com
SMTP Server smtp.orange.fr
Select Next
Click on Email Accounts
Click on your mailbox
The account settings will be displayed.
Account name Mailbox name
SMTP server smtp.orange.fr
SMTP port 25
Secure connection OFF
Incoming server type POP3/IMAP4
POP3 server pop.aol.com
POP3 port 110
APOP connection check box unchecked
Secure connection OFF
Download limit 300
Incoming email New
Recovery operations Subject only
Keep on server check box
My address Your email address
Username Your email address
Password Your password
POP before SMTP check box unchecked
Auth. SMTP checkbox unchecked
Same as POP/IMAP4 checkbox unchecked
User name empty
Password empty
Select Save
Activate mailbox
Select Menu > Message > Settings > E-mail > Sending options
Select the field Send account
Select your mailbox
There you go, that’s good.
Please note that it is necessary to click on download to see the number and the emails received (otherwise it stays at 0/0).
