A reboot led by Shyamalan

The American channel TNT is preparing a reboot of the series. Not as episodes as before, but with a one to two hour show telling several stories. And M. Night Shyamalan was entrusted with the project.

The director of Sixth Sense andUnbreakable, Executive Producer, is expected to direct the first part of the program. For him who watched the series in his youth, to be part ofa franchise as beloved as Les Contes de la Crypte, while having the chance to push the limits of television, is a greatopportunity.

A hugely successful series

The Tales of Crypte featured Cryptkeeper, a dry corpse who told us his horror stories. None of the episodes were related to the others, but all the stories shared the same DNA of fear and supernaturality.

Nowadays it makes you smile when you watch extracts, but for a kid at the time, the show was the kind of show that kept us awake at night. The success was such that a cartoon was created.

Prestigious guests!

Given the success of the series, many stars came to have a little fun. Among others, we remember the passage of Daniel Craig, Timothy Dalton, Bob Hopkins, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ewan McGregor, Michael J. Fox or Tom Hanks. You can view the complete list here.

The reboot of Tales from Crypt has no release date yet, but we are very curious to discover this new version. At the moment, we don’t even know if Cryptkeeper, the storyteller, will be in the game or not.
