Low cost ideas that would be massive boons to the community

The internet is the best place to find unique and interesting ideas for the world. So, let’s start with something that is sure to make the world a better place; something that would make the world a better place. (Hint: that would be ideas!) Every good idea starts with a problem that needs to be solved, and every problem has a solution.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been trying to help a good friend of mine who has been in a terrible boat situation. He’s been bouncing between places, without a home, without money, and without a job. Despite all of this, he’s been very positive, and has been very friendly and helpful to me and my family.

First, please feel free to contribute any of your own suggestions.

Second, I understand that if I were (now) a soulless shark of a corporation like ActivisionBlizzard, I wouldn’t give a damn about many people’s favorite moba / game, but HotS has arguably the best set of character and lore IP in any game in gaming history, and I believe that some of these ideas could be implemented on the cheap, reigniting that cosmetics cashvac for a whole new generation.

Third, HOTS is very, really excellent. It’s not just good, it’s 1000 times better than any other game in the genre. I’m sure it would have blown away Dota and LOL today if it hadn’t been strangled in its infancy. Because there isn’t anything else to compete with (unless you include Pokemon Unite Pay2Win ultimate rumble edition)

So, here are some suggestions (in order of cost/importance of implementation):

  1. Obviously, a custom server browser…
    1. While you’re doing it, don’t throw everyone out of the custom game after it’s completed. I mean, this is 101 nonsense.
    2. Also, while you’re at it, make ARAM character choosing an OPTION, so that if I want to play 5 abbys against 5 abbys, I can. Arbitrary barriers to player hilarity serve no purpose.
  2. Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please
    1. We know you have your own in-house one since you showed it to us and stated, “We’re going to give you this (Fucking) great set of tools.”
    2. Another ‘I understand it’: in WC3, you gave folks tools, and they created DOTA. In the traditional boardroom, that equates to a failure. Buck up, and keep your eyes open for the next time, in my opinion.
      1. It isn’t that terrible of a day’s work to create a whole new type of game that is very popular, has a fantastic competitive scene, and generates squillions of dollars in phony online costumes.
    3. Fans of the Hots would create a slew of new asymmetrical maps that would be incredibly fun? Yes, please. What about PVE campaigns? Please accept my request. LiMing’s dodgeball spectacular, king of the hill, capture the flag? Please accept my request. All of the free material and ideas that a collapsing corporate empire full of out-of-touch moneymen and the ghosts of brilliant artists could possibly want. Please, yes!
    1. Aaaah, how could you make such a blunder?
    2. In comparison to this choice, “Don’t you folks have phones?” aged well.
    3. The fact that a competitive scene still exists without your minimal prize money AND that professionals continue to stream on Twitch, fully knowing that they are now doing it only for the enjoyment of their fans, or onlyfans, if you will. Should make you think…

Anyway, that’s my two cents, and I really hope that some official community manager sees this and creates a super slick PowerPoint with some sweet corporate lingo and sliding animations to show the no-faced bean counters (who we all know run our favorite game) that there’s plenty of blood to be squeezed out of this ginger haired stepchild of a game.

I can’t wait to hear everyone’s opinions, and I’m ready to hit that sad junkie button.

  • Ideas for new ship types

  • Concepts for new content

Potion Making: I, for one, wish there were more potions in the game. So why not sprinkle randomized plants with herbs across the maps? This would give the game a little more depth, as well as a little more incentive to remain longer in the area and explore more. Potions may then be made using the…
