In January, We Will Have to Say Goodbye to Django Unchained and Zero Dark Thirty – Netflix

It’s time to say goodbye to some of the content offered by Netflix. As every month, the platform unveils the films and series that will be leaving the catalogue. In January, we will have to say goodbye to Django Unchained and Zero Dark Thirty.

You won’t be spending the winter in the warm Texas countryside. As usual on Netflix, it’s time to announce the movies and series that are leaving the platform next January.

On the film side, monuments of the 7th art are heading for new adventures. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will leave the platform on January 1. The archaeology professor with the whip, will be followed on loan by the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The movies:

  • Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – January 1

The final lash for Indy as she bowed out. The archaeology enthusiasts’ favourite adventurer is leaving the platform for good. No other components of these adventures will be available on Netflix. We can certainly find them on Disney +. As a reminder, the film was produced by Lucasfilm, now owned by Disney.

  • The Guardians of the Galaxy – January 1st

We’ll have to say goodbye to Star Lord and his team. The Guardians of the Galaxy are off to new adventures, this time on Disney +. The film Marvel will join the platform’s catalogue, and will be the last Marvel feature film to be released byNetflix.

  • Django Unchained – January 1st

You have until January 1st to see or see again, this Tarantino film. For fans of Western and emancipation stories, you’ll still have to hurry. Fans of the director can rest assured, however, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill remain in the catalogue for the time being.

  • The Breakfast club – January 1st

We’re gonna have to say goodbye to John Hughes and his movies. Breakfast Club will no longer be available on Netflix, as will 16 candles for Sam. The two mythical films of the 80s will disappear on January 1st. We wave our fists to say goodbye!

If you want to see this series adapted from the work of Stephen King again, you only have a few days left. The dome will soon disappear and so will the three seasons. The 2013 series had been a hit on M6 when it first aired in France.

  • Grimm – January 6

Netflix closes Grimm’s tales and will remove the six seasons available on the platform. The fantasy series had members of Buffy’s Vampire Squad among its writers. Completed in 2017, it promised to follow the adventures of a descendant of the Brothers Grimm, who is able to hunt fairy tale creatures.

  • Family Guy – January 1st

The Griffin family is taking some time off and two seasons will no longer be available on the platform. The animated series can still be viewed, but only from season 13 to season 17. The last season to date, is not yet announced as it is broadcast on FOX.

  • Weeds, season 1 to 8 – January 1


  • Ary Abittan, Madness – January 1

Netflix has not yet released the full programme of festivities for January, but the start of the year will be marked by the arrival of Dracula, the second season of Sex Education. Sabrina the apprentice witch, will also be making a comeback for Season 3. That’s some consolation for the audience.
