of Baskerville is the first new content in Hitman’s roadmap for February 3. It does exactly what we wanted, adding an incredibly exciting new challenge to one of the best places in the game. In this guide, we’ll show you our strategy for completing the Escalade. We’ll also warn you about certain bugs so they don’t surprise you.
Stage 1 – Accident Trio
At the first level of this escalation, you are tasked with killing three members of the Carlyle family by random killing. At this point you can choose any starting point you have unlocked, but for simplicity we will use the default starting point on the disc. All you need to bring is a silenced pistol and some coins.
We have discovered that the best way to get past this level is to work as a private detective. You can steal his disguise by distracting him on the road. Use coins to lure him into the bushes. Once disguised, walk through the alley that leads to the house, but don’t go through the front door.
Instead, go around the right side of the house and climb up through this gutter.
Below is a link to a map of the place.
Climb up along the gutter and down along the ledge on the left. You need to get through a window to the first floor and to the walkway over the first two targets, Gregory and Emma. The advantage of your disguise is that no one will question your presence in most places on this level.
Below is a link to the map.
There are two ways to kill these targets. You can lure them separately under the chandeliers and drop the chandeliers on their heads. Or you can kill them both at once.
To kill them both at once, wait until Emma approaches Gregory, the man sitting there reading the newspaper. Press the coin on the table in front of them, then immediately switch to your gun. As soon as Gregory gets up, pull the chain holding the chandelier over their heads.
It will almost certainly kill both targets. If Gregory manages to avoid disaster, use the coins to lure him to the second chandelier. You might as well rip it off to kill him. You may have to wait until he stops panicking.
Your last target on this level is Patrick. He is playing pool in the room at the end of the hallway. Go through the corridors until you reach the floor above him.
His natural path will lead him here under the chandelier. Wait for him to stand on the table and look at his phone. It’s time to drop the chandelier and kill him.
You can go out any way you want. Since you are dressed like a detective, you can even walk down the aisle.
Step 2 – Five goals, one color
In level 2 and 3, you must always wear Agent 47’s suit, or you will fail the mission. You still have to kill all targets by accident, and now there are five. That means your starting position is as limited as your workload. All you need are coins and a gun with a silencer. Your skills will do the rest.
From the spawning area, go to the right of the driveway and clink a hole in the wall there. Then turn right and cross the river.
As you move away from the river, you will see a breach in the wall in front of you. You need to hide there, in the nicely shaped bushes. In the corner in front of the house, there is a drainpipe. That’s where you need to go.
Once you have climbed up the eaves, turn left and jump out of the first open window you find. Inside this room is a picture of a dog about to open a secret passageway. But that’s not the way to go.
Behind the main door of this room is a staff member. Wait for them to come closer or pull them out with a coin. Hide his body in the closet. Now you have a clear path to Gregory and Emma.
You have to wait until the patrol boat turns around and goes to the left. Then you can walk through this corridor. Take a moment as you walk through the door and stop behind the entrance on your left. This will prevent the guards behind you from noticing you. Then walk forward and go through the next opening on your right. It’s time to kill two targets.
You don’t have to do anything else to kill them both. Slide them both onto a table like you did on the first level and let the chandelier do the rest.
Exit through the left window from this corridor.
Shimmy is on the right and around the corner. Here is a drainpipe, which you have to go through. When you get to the first floor, you can go in through the glass doors. Along the way, a cleaning lady is cleaning several things. Take them out and put them in a bin outside or in the closet.
Go to the inner corridor and wait outside. Your next target, Rebecca, will pass through here regularly as part of her regular patrol. When she does, pull the chain from the chandelier and it will land on her head.
This entrance is in front of the billiard room, where Patrick is still unwise. Approach it and swing Agent 47 to the left. Here you can see that Patrick is missing all his shots. Wait until he moves away from the table to check the phone again. Now you can shoot through the chandelier chain and kill him.
Once he is in the field, there is only one target. From that door, you can walk down the hallway to find him. He will come through the last door on the left. He will either be sitting at the piano or walking around discussing his eulogy.
Chandeliers are useless in this room. Instead, jump out of the open window on the south side. Go through the drainpipe and turn left. You will see a rat poison waiting to be used.
Below is a link to the map.
Go back into the drainpipe and wait. The best time to poison the water of this target sitting at the piano is when she walks away from the instrument to read her eulogy. When you have poisoned him, go back and hide behind a chair in that room and wait for him to drink it.
Edward will eventually drink the poison. When he does, go back behind the door you came through, now to the left. Edward will go to the bathroom down that hallway. Wait until he enters, then follow him.
Since drowning is considered accidental homicide, it must end in a pool of its own vomit to stop it.
Once she is dead, you can finish the mission. The best way is to go over the wooden bridge, which you can reach through the window of the room where you poisoned Edward. But distract the guard and the gardener before you try to leave.
Step 3 – 60 seconds
Level 3 of this escalation adds a complication. After you kill a target, you get a 60-second timer. You must kill another target to reset the timer. If the timer expires, the mission fails.
This complication forces you to search for the optimal way to kill for each target. The one we designed can be affected by one of two errors, both of which apply to Edward. If you find that one of the two errors has occurred, you should reset the mission, as it will no longer be possible to complete it.
Introduction
The route at level 3 follows the route at level 2. Climb over the wall at the entrance and then cross the creek. Instead of jumping over the second wall, kiss the bushes and run through them over the house on your right.
Go through the bushes on the right and go to the fountain. At this fountain, there are two rooms worth seeing. Wait for the guards to come forward and run after them into the bushes closest to the house. This is the area with the drainpipe and the rat poison on the second level.
When the guards aren’t looking, close the wall and grab the rat poison. Now climb into the gutter, but don’t poison Edward’s water yet. We have one more adjustment to make.
Leave the room through the door on the left and enter the hallway.
The last door on the right leads to a corridor through which Rebecca will pass. When no one is looking, we need to remove the maid and hide her body. Now we are ready to kill all the targets.
Objective 1/5 – Edward
Go back into the hallway and poison Edward’s water. It’s really the only part on this level that takes time. But, as we said, the poisoning will cause one of the two bugs to die.
Error 1
The first error is small, but still results in a reset. A link to the poison status alerts Edward to the first targets you kill. He goes through the walls and into the next room to choke on their corpses. If you see him there on instinct, you must reset him.
Error 2
This second mistake is the worst. Edward will forget the walls and gravity and go southwest forever. He will take off into the sky and keep flying. Even if you kill all the other targets, he won’t die. Even if it disappears from the map. If you see a target in the sky, restart the mission.
Targets 1 +2 – Grégoire and Emma.
Once you have poisoned Edward, go through the left door and out into the hallway. Go through the hallway and out through the glass doors. There is a drainpipe here on the right, which you must climb up.
Shimmy left from the top of the trap to reach the bridge over Gregory and Emma. Kill them, just like in levels 1 and 2, and the timer starts.
Target three is Patrick.
Your next target is Patrick. Go back through the window, the drainpipe and the glass doors. You kill Patrick by hiding in the doorway, as on the second level. This will reset the timer.
Target 4: Rebecca.
By this time Rebecca is walking down the hall behind you. Go downstairs, hide by the door and pull the chain on the chandelier when she enters. If she needs help, you can use the room to taunt her on the spot. You may need it if Patrick wasn’t in the right position earlier.
Objective 5 – Edward
You should see Edward go into the bathroom now. Run in and drown him. When he’s dead, the timer will go off and you can relax. Hide his body in the nearby laundry room, then find a restful exit after all that stress.
