How old do you have to be to work at subway

Subway has had a fairly steady increase in the number of jobs in 2016 and is looking for people who have an “open mind” and “have a passion for working” on this new Company. If you have a passion for working on the Subway and want to join the team, please contact subway with the details of your skills and experience.

Subway does not require proof of any previous Subway employment, as long as you are over 18 years old, have no criminal record, and are not a current member of any other organization. The Company is seeking a candidate for temporary employment.

If you are a current Subway employee, you should consider applying as a full-time position. You can start with as little as one day’s salary, which may offer without any additional responsibilities (e.g., scheduling).

Benefits of Working at Subway

Benefits of working at subway

Subway benefits can make or break your career opportunities and your health insurance plan. Subway benefits aren’t free, but if you have enough, Subway offers health, dental, vision and life insurance to help you stay healthy over time.

For the employee, it’s essential to know that while Subway offers health insurance, the plan won’t include paid sick leave. Instead, you’ll be expected to take advantage of paid vacation leave benefits and the opportunity to participate fully in your 401K plan.

Additionally, there is a deductible on all coverage. But if you have a lot of health needs, Subway might consider covering some of those expenses. The deductible on your insurance plan is $2,500 if you’re 65 years old or older and $10,700 if your employer is in the single market. The deductible is $3,000 if you’re 65 or older or $5,000 if you’re 35 years old and your employer is not in the market

For your children, Subway offers health insurance that does not tie to any income. So your children who are eligible for coverage on the health insurance benefit plan will also be considered employees.

Subway also offers health insurance in the form of a group plan or individual health insurance. For information on the personal health insurance benefits, you might receive, call 1-800-SUBSCRIPT (1-800-695-2333). Subway also offers free and low-cost emergency and disability benefits. If you can’t find an emergency or disability program in your area, a free or low-cost benefit is available through Subway’s online website. This type of program offers to people who need a place to live or work temporarily. Additionally, it also is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.

If you have to leave the U.S., Subway’s financial benefits include benefits such as free transportation, health insurance, 401K matching, and free or low-cost parking. The benefits of your employment with Subway extend well beyond your health insurance plan.

FAQs

Can a 13-year-old work at Subway?

The answer is yes!

But that’s not to say that all young children should aspire to work inside a sandwich shop.

Subway doesn’t have any children employed in its sandwiches—and they aren’t particularly useful workers.

According to its employment statistics, Subway has a median age of 27 years, a mean of 18 years, three times the national average of 16 years, and three times the national average (for women) of 17 years.

Also, according to the Labor Department’s 2011 report on youth employment, about 25 per cent of high school graduates between 16 and 25, or 14 per cent of all those between the ages of 16 and 24, are either employed or looking for a new job within six months.

Subway isn’t alone in its youth employment problems. Many other fast food outlets also have poor or no working-age demographics.

According to the United States Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, the percentage of young workers aged16-29, who are working at full-time for an employer, has dropped by 7 per cent since 1980 to 6.4 per cent in 2011. The percentage who are in high school (18-24-year-olds) has fallen by 20 percentage points—from 5.1 per cent to 4.9 per cent.

The United States is not alone in its labour-force decline, either. Many U.S. cities also are experiencing declines in youth employment. And the rate is much worse among young blacks/African Americans than the white population.

So, how can Subway help its young working-age population?

Subway is taking many steps to improve its recruitment strategies, including hiring more women and minority candidates.

The Company also is recruiting and training younger employees at various levels. Subway launched a two-week “Girls Work” campaign in February called “Gathering a Team” which provides a two-week “get it done” program. That provided young women and minorities a chance to learn about the Company and its valuable skills for two-week period.

Also they get to know each other and interact with other young women and minorities.

Can a 15-year-old work at Subway?

Yes and no. A 15-year-old should never have access to an employee’s computer system. He has access to the computer network only after having undergone the required security training. However, he can use the computer network for any purpose he chooses — even if he’s not supposed to. That’s a different story from the one with the 16-year-old.

Several other rules apply to teenagers:

They can’t get out of the Company’s offices until they undergo security training.

They’re not allowed to look or write on computers.

No photos or videos are ever allowed to send via email or other communications.

What’s different about these rules between a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old is that the 16-year-old would need to be a very knowledgeable person. It’s a lot easier for 15-year-olds to get around the rules than it is for 16-year-olds.

What would Subway do if it caught a 15-year-old on his computer?

They’ve got a few things in common with 15-year-olds, though. First, both 15-year-olds and 16-year-olds will get paid in advance for the work they’re doing. That’s a severe penalty — and one that Subway should be able to handle.

Second, Subway should be able to get around the 15-year-old’s 15-day suspension by giving him or her at least a few hours of advance notice. This should be done at the request of the Company.

Can a 16-Year-Old Work at Subway?

Can a 16-Year-Old Work at Subway

I think it would be an exciting opportunity for a teenager to work for Subway. I believe they could get good wages and offer their employees decent wages as well. In terms of job opportunities, Subway offers excellent benefits. Their benefits include health insurance, 401k, paid time off for the entire year, and a pension that’s guaranteed to pay out for 30 years! I love working at Subway, and I know many of my friends who are working there. I’d love to work for Subway. I would consider applying to Subway if I were a 16 year old. I would think twice before applying if it’s a major metropolitan area employer. If it’s not significant, then I’d just wait until Subway becomes a major employer. I think this would be an amazing opportunity for 16-year-olds. In addition to Subway, it’s possible to work for many other restaurants, fast food places, and retail stores. I believe that there are lots of jobs available in retail that would be interesting as well. If you’re a 16-year-old who wants to work at a retail company, please contact me! I’d love to have you consider a retail job. Send me an email if you want to discuss your potential job.

Does the subway work when the power’s out?

This is the second question I have heard from fellow transit workers.

It appears that during some of my more intense work days and evenings, I am not always using the subway because it has to be stopped and rerouted after dark. That’s a pretty typical scenario at work when power is out at night, and when I work for a public or private transit agency, the power isn’t always on. This means you may see a line without power for the duration of your shift if the power’s out.

You would expect transit workers to know about this, but it’s one reason they don’t. The MTA also doesn’t offer any special tips about when the power is out, either.

In my experience, this doesn’t stop a worker from making the subway work during the workday. Some employees, however, are more diligent than others in taking special care to ensure that the subway is running and working while the power is off.

It’s not always the subway that the power is out from during a workday. There are circumstances, especially during rush hour, when you can find yourself without power for only a couple of hours.

What if you don’t have access to subway trains during rush hour? What is safe during rush hour?

For transit workers, the subway may be working if you have access to or are willing to work the subway. The MTA and NYC’s Department of Transportation (DOT) have both stated that the subway does not operate at peak periods. And that in most cases people who want to use the subway are able to do so without interruption.

This isn’t true of all subway services, of course. There are certain situations where the subway may not function at peak hours. So the authority must make sure that subway staff are in place by the time the rush comes.

When you want to get from point A to point B on the subway, the train can be stopped during rush hours. There is the possibility of stopping a subway train during the day and then using another one of the many stops on the way from A to B, even though the last train from that point is still running.

How Do I Get Subway Points And How Does it Work?

There are three ways to get Subway Points:

You’ve got to buy Subway Points and receive them online at www.subway.com. You can redeem them at participating Subway restaurants on your own by visiting www.SubwayMenu.com (or any Subway location you’re using).

And then by clicking on “Get Subway Points” at the bottom of your screen.

What Are the Benefits of Subway Points?

SubwayPoints offer fast and convenient access to a wide variety of great Subway Restaurants. For example, a meal will not go bad if you’re eating there on a weekday night, or even if you’re on a weekend night. A Subway restaurant that’s open will serve you the same meal at a lower price than your normal Subway fare. So it’s a great deal for those who like to travel on their own time.

There are some unique benefits to SubwayPoints, like the following:

Your Subway Restaurants do not have to serve you at each location – and will not charge you any additional taxes or surcharges. You can redeem the credit for food or gift cards. For example – $100.00 – you can get a $100 gift card for the Subway Gift Card Program (substitute any other dollar-value gift card you would like)

Subway Points used on any food or travel products purchased at a participating Subway restaurant

You earn points at participating Subway restaurants every time you use a valid credit card, online, by phone, in person or via mail order in the United States

Subway Points expire within 60 days of the point-value date of purchase (if you purchase online, it may take 3 to 5 business days). After that, you could still redeem the point-value for a food or travel product, but the points you redeemed would be lost for that product’s expiration date. There are no restrictions on the size of any points you may redeem

Subway Points can be used to earn free food at some participating Subway restaurants, up to three times per month. To redeem the points for free food, you must select your food and enter it into the points calculation on the website. For example- $100.00 – you can redeem the $100 gift card for the Subway Gift Card Program (substitute any other dollar-value gift card you would like).

How Much Experience Do You Need to Work at Subway?

The question is not hard to answer. The problem is, it’s difficult to explain because it’s not really clear.

First, consider your experience as a full-time Subway employee. You’ve probably worked there for at least six months, and at what salary?

It depends. The average salary for a full-time Subway employee is $16 an hour, but it can vary from $9 to $30 an hour. The average minimum wage is $8.75 an hour, but can also be as much as $12 an hour. The mean wage ranges from $7-$10 an hour.

What’s the typical length of a full-time, two- or three-year contract? For instance, the average deal is two years and seven months. The average time spent per month at or above the minimum wage is one and a half days per week.

And if a part-time Subway employee works 40 hours per week, how many hours per week do they work per week? The typical weekly hours are 40 hours per week, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and one is required per day — one hour per day. And that one-hour-per-day requirement comes from the Fair Labor Standards Act.

So in that scenario, if you’re a part-time Subway employee, you must work at least 40 hours per week, if you want to earn the minimum $8.75 an hour.

If you’re a full-time worker, you’re also required to work 40 hours per week.

That raises the total number of hours you need per workweek in order to earn minimum wage to at least 40. So if you’re a full-time worker (at minimum wage), you have to work at least 100 hours per week.

How old do have to be to work at subway in Tennessee?

You can select a variety of locations in your city from that selection. You may want to check out some of the stores in your area as well.

When will Subway start accepting credit cards for delivery?

You could do this through your mobile phone app or tablet, and choose to go with the American Express or the credit card.

Facts about Subway

How was Subway formed?

Subway opened on the first day in 1946 along the Hudson Valley waterfront. Its first restaurant opened the following year. In the 1950s the Company went public with a $1 coupon program to expand into New York City and a chain of 13,000 restaurants. They also began serving breakfast at all 11 restaurants on the premises (from 1950 to 1960!).

What kind of food did the Company offer?

The Company offered three meals per day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. They provided a variety of sandwiches, salads and sandwiches. They also sold their own branded products (including Subway ice cream, Subway cupcakes, Subway cookies and pizza, and more).

What kind of service did Subway provide?

Subway served sandwiches on a “churning” basis, which meant each meal served was only served during the time it was available. That means if you ordered a sandwich at 6:15 am, the next day, you could get it for 6:45 in the morning, but once at 11, it was no longer available at 11:59 pm. If you ordered sandwiches in the early morning, you could also eat and drink them in the restaurant that afternoon. The Company also sold its own branded products. For a sandwich with bacon, their logo was painted on the outside of their box, which ia known to be a first Subway logo. The logo has always stuck with the Company today, and the brand remains one of its most recognized products.

How were they known locally and around the world?

The Company was known as the “Cookie Monster”. It was a local restaurant that was famous for its breakfast sandwiches. As their reputation grew, so did the number of customers they served at their downtown locations. The restaurant had several areas throughout the country, and they even had a place on Broadway at the Plaza in Manhattan.

What kind of products did Subway offer? Did they have ice cream and bread, or were they ice cream and cookies?

The Company sold many products during its heyday, including ice cream, ice cream flavoured bread (and other bread items like french fries and French rolls), sandwiches, sandwiches flavoured with butter etc.

How do you get an application at subway?

Well you can take the application for an application through subway, or you can call the subway office, the information will be forwarded to your phone.

Do I need an ID to get to the door, where do I turn in my application?

If an application is not received by subway before the train leaves, or if your application is declined, it is usually a sign that there is an issue with your identification. In addition, the subway will not call to verify the validity of the application, and so if it turns out that your identification did not match your application, you will be asked to re-apply. If this happens, then you may need to come to the subway office where they can verify your identification. If this happens, then the application is not valid, and it will not be processed. Please make sure that you have valid identification as you will need to provide documentation for the identification card, as well as the proof of identity card and a photo ID as well.

Can my application be processed in time?

Generally speaking, the answer to this question is “it depends”. There are a number of factors that can delay the processing of applicants. For instance – whether or not your application is being processed for a specific reason at the time, whether or not you have paid the application fee and whether or not there is a specific deadline within which the subway has to process the application.

If we are unable to process your application within the time stated, it means that we cannot be sure of the validity of the application and thus the application is not considered. In addition, it means that if you cannot pay for the application fee within the allotted window, your application should be rejected and you will be sent back to the application review centre where you have to wait for your application to be cleared. This can happen up to four times for every five months that the process is ongoing.

How does one become a subway conductor?

It doesn’t happen overnight. The experience of subway training lasts several years.

The process is as follows: You learn to be a subway conductor and to perform a variety of functions on a regular schedule. Most importantly, you learn how to make an honest living, and how to behave respectfully toward a diverse group of people who may disagree with you on the way you conduct the transportation you provide.

In most cases, subway train drivers must complete at least six weeks of training to earn a high enough salary and to advance to become a subway conductor. The more experience you have, the better-paid you are likely to earn.

In the summer and fall months, as train passengers head for work, you will spend more time on the tracks. This time provides a variety of training opportunities. You will learn how to use the subway’s equipment. You will learn how to carry a large, heavy object with one hand and use your free hand to operate a switch on the other. It is an extremely useful skill as it allows you to perform various duties.

For more information on subway train service and its train system, please review the train website. A detailed guide to all subway train services and to train operating regulations, schedules, and services can be found in the chapter “Operating a Subway Station: A Guide to the New York Subway”.

A good portion of your training takes place on the street on your own time. You will also be provided with transportation that is free and accessible. You must take a seat on the floor, and you must use your right and left hands, but your arms must not be extended at any angle. You may not wear hats.

You are expected to follow any instructions given to you by the conductor. You are not required to listen to the conductor nor to take directions from him. Your job in subway train operating is not to be “in” with someone but to serve them, whether by taking an order from them or giving directions. You may be asked to perform a service in which you have no prior experience, but which the conductor requires you to do.

How Much Does Subway pay Part-Time Workers?

As of the end of 2013, the average weekly wage for part-time workers at Subway stores was $2.33 an hour (or $13.74 per week) according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Subway also pays part-time workers in all other industries (including hospitality and retail) up to $20 per month for a total of over $35 per month. Most of the time, the wages for the workers will be below minimum wage.

This is why it is important to make sure you are paying part-time workers on a realistic basis, not on a sliding scale. It’s also important to understand the wage difference between full-time and part-time workers and to understand why certain employees may be in higher pay.

Here’s what to do if you are concerned about salary.

Pay part-time workers below the minimum wage because you have a “full time” employee at home

Under a part-time wage law, an employer can charge more than minimum wage in one workday if they have a full-time employee at home or in a house (household) and the employee is working more than 40 hours per week. For instance, an employer who has a full-time employee in a house with four people at home can charge them a full-time wage of $11.25 an hour.

What if that employee does 40-hour weeks?

The federal minimum wage for full-time hourly paid employees is $7.25. Therefore, this would mean the full-time hours worked by the employee in a house in 2012 would equate to $23.70 an hour. At $20 an hour, there’s a difference of $7.70 an hour or 2 per cent. In a house with three people, this would equate to $26.00 an hour. So if you’re paying $23.70 an hour in part-time wage, this is an example of you paying an employee below minimum wage.

If you’ve just signed a contract with someone and they don’t make $26.00 an hour, don’t worry, they’re not making that much.
