There are many different types of master’s degrees in Biology.

Master’s Degree Program Requirements- Master’s degrees in Biology can be earned only on a full-time basis. They do not count toward the number of days of study required for degree or certificate completion. If you hold a degree or certificate, but fail to complete the requirements required for an associate degree, you will be disqualified from the program. If you have earned a bachelor’s degree and have failed to complete the requirements required for a master’s degree (see below), and the following is true, you are not a graduate student.

A graduate student must earn a doctorate in Biology before he or she has received a master’s degree. You must have completed all the required courses for a doctorate prior to becoming a graduate student. In most cases, your degree programs in Biology take two semesters or more prior to receiving the doctorate certificate. The coursework will be posted on the Biology department Web site within 60 days of the end of each of the 12 semesters of work. The bachelor’s degree is the major program of study that will provide the major in your degree program of study. The master’s degree program of study in Biological Sciences, and all Master’s of Bachelor’s and Master’s of Graduate Diploma of Engineering degree programs in Biological Sciences, does not require courses in the major of your choice.
