The Scottish Premiership football season kicks off on Saturday, with Celtic taking on Hibernian in a clash of two teams who were relegated from the top flight last year.
The “kyogo furuhashi fifa 21” is a soccer game that was released on the Nintendo Switch The game has been highly praised by critics and players alike.
Celtic won their first title under Ange Postecoglou thanks to Kyogo Furuhashi’s second-half brace.
Celtic won their first prize under Ange Postecoglou with a thrilling Scottish League Cup final triumph against Hibernian, who were without a manager.
Within a minute after falling down to Paul Hanlon’s powerful header for Hibs, the Japanese striker – an injury worry heading into the game – scored expertly to draw Celtic level.
Kyogo then outpaced Hibs’ defenders by latching on to a fast free-kick and lobbing goalkeeper Matt Macey to give Celtic the trophy.
Kevin Nisbet and Hanlon both had gilt-edged opportunities to force extra time, but Nisbet’s header hit the post first, then Hanlon skied the rebound from 10 yards in the 89th minute. Joe Hart then rejected Joe Newell at the last possible moment.
Celtic’s undefeated record at Hampden was extended to 18 games, while Hibs – led by interim manager David Gray – were left regretting another wasted chance at the national stadium, having lost the Scottish Cup final last season.
After failing to record a shot on target before the interval, the contest only sprang to life in the second half when Hibs skipper Hanlon flung himself at a corner to put his team in lead.
The captain’s drive was key, as his attempt ultimately found its way in after hitting Josip Juranovic on the goal-line.
After seeing their team play without the ball for big swaths of the first half, the Hibs end at Hampden erupted into life, but they wouldn’t be celebrating for long.
Callum McGregor picked up Kyogo in the area with a great pass right after the restart, and the striker poked the ball away from Hanlon with a fine touch before putting a finish past Macey.
Kyogo’s touch, quickness, and mobility distinguish him as a terrific player, and his acuity paid off again 20 minutes later.
He ran off the shoulder of Hibs’ back four when they were re-organizing at a free-kick. Tom Rogic saw his run goalward and singled him out, and the Japan international took full most of the opportunity to loft the ball over Macey in style.
Hibs were startled after missing a golden chance to go ahead five minutes earlier when Nisbet danced into the Celtic area only to be denied by Hart.
When Nisbet’s late header glanced the upright and Hanlon side-footed over, the Easter Road players stood stunned with their hands on their heads. Hart likewise stayed firm in the face of Newell’s last-ditch effort.
Instead, Celtic used five minutes of injury time to claim the first trophy for Postecoglou, as the club continues to improve under the Australian.
Kyogo Furuhashi was named Player of the Match.
Is there anybody else? It might have been the excellent Tom Rogic, for example. Kyogo, on the other hand, scored two wonderful goals. The game-winner
What did we discover?
The news that Kyogo would be able to start after missing the previous two games due to injury was a huge lift for Celtic. His movements are razor-sharp, and he almost undone Hibs twice. For Postecoglou’s team, he is the deciding factor.
The wider picture is the potential lift for this freshly assembled Celtic squad. Only three players from the team that won their fourth consecutive treble against Hearts over a year ago were in the starting lineup at Hampden. It’s not the same team that ruled Scottish football for a decade.
Despite a litany of injuries threatening to derail their quest – David Turnbull being the latest at Hampden – Postecoglou had to rebuild a team and, after a shaky start, they are undefeated domestically since September.
There is still a long way to go in the league, and although Rangers’ record has improved under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Celtic will be hoping that this boosts their confidence.
Hibs, on the other hand, were unable to recreate their heroics against Rangers in the semi-final. They may be enraged at the opening goal, which they say was scored offside. At the conclusion, Ryan Porteous was challenged in the box, and there was a shout for a penalty.
They eventually produced enough opportunities to force extra time, but they ended up regretting two occasions after defending their box magnificently before scoring.
With Shaun Maloney expected to take over on Monday, the lack of a manager cannot have helped the issue. Given several players’ loud views on Jack Ross’ departure, Hibs may have had a greater chance of retaining the departing manager in control at Hampden.
What comes next?
With Scottish Premiership matchups on Wednesday, neither team will have much time to relax. Hibs take on Aberdeen, while Celtic play St Mirren in Paisley (both 19:45 GMT).
