Golden Globes 2020 : Joaquin Phoenix Received the Best Actor Award for Joker, Discover the Full Palmars

As every year, the month of January is the occasion to reward the cinema for the past year. In a few days we will be able to discover the Caesars and the Oscars, but in the meantime we already had the Golden Globes last night. This ceremony was eagerly awaited as it usually serves as a launch pad for the Oscars. Since the release of Joker in October and its triumph at the Venice Mostra, many spectators had been hoping to see Joaquin Phoenix win the Oscar for Best Actor. We’re not there yet, but the American actor has just won the Golden Globe for best actor in a drama. In front of him we could find some beautiful people: Christian Bale for Ford V Ferrari, Antonio Banderas for Pain and Glory, Adam Driver for Marriage Story and Jonathan Pryce for The Two Popes.

Among the surprises of the evening we can count the film 1917 by Sam Mendes which won the prize for best dramatic film. Taaron Egerton received the award for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical for his portrayal of Elton John in Rocketman. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has won threeawards, including Best Musical or Musical, Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor for Brad Pitt. For women, Renee Zellweger won Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Judy, Awkwafina won Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for her role in The Farewell, and finally Laura Dern won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Marriage Story .
