Free Mobile – Retractation… Do Not Activate Sim Card?

MaxPixel

Good morning everyone,

(Careful… ball and chain).
I would like to shed some light, please, on a Free mobile subscription by private sale last week (28/03/2017).

Concretely: for internet + mobile, I was at Orange, old abo Open1, service that worked but I looked cheaper (not difficult).

I compared Sosh, Free, I did my little calculations… it seemed ok on both sides, but cheaper at Free, especially with this private sale offer at 2.99 per month for 12 months.

So I subscribed online for the mobile subscription by private sale, my order has been taken into account, I receive the confirmations, etc.

I start the steps to go from the Livebox to the Freebox… and there, surprise! No modern Freebox (with femtocell…) for country people in non-unbundled area, only the FB Crystal, probably very good, but here, very little mobile network, and we had tasted the comfort of the Orange femtocell so we think very quickly : no femtocell = no subscription, we cancel everything.

You’re going to tell me, I should have done a Freebox simulation BEFORE subscribing to Free Mobile but too late, I relied on their website, I shouldn’t have.

In short, if you’re going to screw up, you might as well do it all the way to the end:
I’ll send the withdrawal form to illico without thinking about it any further, by simple mail and not registered (no matter what I say), on 30/03/2017. Better yet, I can’t remember if I made a copy.

My spouse received his SIM card did not touch it, did not activate it, but the portability of his number did take place today.

Result: his number is said to be no longer assigned. For a pro line, beautiful.

So here it is:

Question 1: If he activates his sim card he will receive his calls, I suppose, but if Free takes my request for withdrawal into account, will it be considered that he has used the service and will therefore be charged a termination fee of 49 euros?

Question 2: In your opinion, do I have to send my cancellation request back to Free, by fax for example?

Question 3: When / if retraction is taken into account, Orange takes over automatically? Within what timeframe?

I confess, I’m….

THANK YOU in advance for your answers and leads, and if a pro came by… Free support unavailable by phone, of course.

Good day to you,

M.

Cancellation fees are for the Box offer and not for the mobile offer unless, for the mobile private sale offer, withdrawal fees have been added to the subscription conditions. But it will be up to you to check them on the general conditions of subscription to this offer.

It is necessary that you return the withdrawal request by registered mail for it to be taken into account.

In my opinion the line will be lost because I don’t think portability is retroactive.
In practice, it would be necessary to make a re-portability to orange with the new RIO code defined by Free and that you can have by calling from the concerned number 3179. To do this, the mobile line will have to be activated.
By doing this, will this cancel your request for withdrawal?
That is the problem. Therefore, check the conditions of withdrawal specifically for the private sale offer on the GTC.
It seems to me that it is possible to obtain the RIO code by going to your subscriber’s area. Find out if this is the case.
I’m always available if you need me.
Very good day.

Good evening, Noreto,

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer me.

=> Would it be possible for you, please, to confirm that my first withdrawal request has not been taken into account if I send you the relevant number in mp?

Because given the circumstances, I think we’re going to move towards a total switch to Free… it’s important to keep this number. So we will activate the SIM card and certainly change the livebox into a freebox.

=> 2 more questions at once: as the freebox Crystal doesn’t have a femtocell, and you can’t call unlimited to mobiles with it, is there :

– a mobile signal amplifier system from the box?
– an option to call unlimited mobiles from the box?

Yours truly,

M.

EDIT: with the Freebox Crystal, you can call unlimited mobiles in fact?!

Yes, I could check whether this has been taken into account or not.

Provided that you validate the mobile option at 2.99euro/month on your Freebox subscriber area: http://www.free.fr/assistance/567.html#step-2484
