Finally, Marvel is Going to Nominate Robert Downey Jr. For an Oscar!

As you may recall, a few weeks ago Disney entered the Oscar race by proposing a list of films for the next ceremony. A list that had made fans react because the studio did not feature Robert Downey Jr. for his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the last Avengers: Endgame , the biggest cinematic success of all time.

Marvel Studios still decides to nominate Robert Downey Jr. to the Academy of Oscars

Indeed, Marvel Studios had proposed Endgame at the Oscars in different categories such as Best Film, Best Costumes, Best Editing, Best Sound Editing and Best Mixing. Although Disney was betting heavily on the latest Avengers opus, on the other hand, the firm did not put forward the actors and actresses who appeared in the casting.

It seems that Disney has revised its plans because the studio has just decided to finally nominate Robert Downey Jr. for the Oscar Academy Award for his role in Endgame and for the ten years he played Iron Man in the movies. Even though the actor had always asked Marvel not to be nominated for an award, Marvel still added his name to the race for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

Note in passing that Robert Downey Jr. won’t be the only member of the distribution of the film that generated $2.8 billion in revenues to perhaps leave with a statuette. Indeed, Marvel Studios also proposed actresses in the category Best Supporting Actress. Scarlett Johansson Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan and Brie Larson are also being nominated for the 2020 Oscars.
