As Disney+ arrives in November 2019, the firm with big ears unveils the list of films, series and documentaries available at the launch. Marvel, Star Wars The Simpsons, it’s a great crowd!
In 2019, the SVOD market explodes. While Netflix has been dominating the market, new players want a piece of the pie. After Amazon Prime Video OCS and myCanal in France, Apple and Disney are about to launch their platform. If the brand à la Pomme is only in its infancy, the firm with big ears is about to strike a big blow, as evidenced by our first introduction of Disney+.
Announced for November 12, 2019 at $6.99 per month Disney+ is cheaper than Netflix. And there’s even a Disney+ subscription for less than $5 a month, provided you subscribe for 3 years. Does that rhyme with a poor catalogue? No, not really. Disney has just unveiled the list of Disney+ films, series and documentaries. The platform will feature 400 films, including 100 recent feature films, and 7,500 episodes of series. The company can also count on strong franchises: Walt Disney of course, but also Marvel (very few), Star Wars or The Simpsons. What a great way to start this new Disney adventure!
