Cowboys Wrap Up California Camp: Michael Gallup’s Flip, Dak Prescott’s Mental Reps And More

The Cowboys wrapped up their three-day “mini camp” in California on Monday. The team’s starting quarterback, Dak Prescott, had his first practice with the team on Sunday as he gets ready to replace Tony Romo on the field.

The Cowboys wrapped up their third week of training camp and now they’re heading back to Dallas. It was non-stop action from the first to last practice and on to team meetings. The team finished up with individual meetings and a team meeting at the Alamodome. FRISCO, Texas (KTRK) — The Dallas Cowboys will conduct their first public training camp session at The Star on Monday, commemorating Mike McCarthy’s two-year stint as coach’s first public camp practice. The coronavirus epidemic forced the cancellation of last year’s exercises.

Prescott, 28, believes that every repetition, even when he is not practicing or playing, is an opportunity to enhance his game.

“Every rep on the field, whether I’m a starter or not, is a chance for me to take a mental rep and improve.”

Gallup is completely smitten.

Prescott’s shoulder issue has dominated training camp discussion, but Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup averted a major injury on July 27.

Gallup went up for a fade ball thrown in the corner of the end zone, flipped over a fence, and fell on his knees, hoping to make a grab. He completed practice despite losing his breath, but he was out for the following three days due to a painful ankle.

Linebacker Jon Bostic of the Washington Football Team floored a falling Andy Dalton with a cheap shot, leaving the quarterback with a concussion. At the moment, it was a telling indication that no linemen went after Bostic for the hit on Dalton. Veteran offensive lineman Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, and La’el Collins did not participate in Dallas’ 25-3 defeat in Week 7 last season.
