Casa de Papel will return in 2019 for a season 3! Netflix has officialized the return of the Spanish event series, which will be available on the SVoD platform starting next year. Great news for the millions of fans who were eagerly awaiting to know whether or not a sequel would be planned. Indeed, the end of season 2 did not necessarily lead to a third season, and no new episodes were initially planned.

Netflix officialized on April 18, 2018 a season 3 for Casa de Papel, which will be released in 2019. It will only be available on the SVoD platform even in Spain, where it was originally broadcast on Antena 3. We are still waiting for information as to who will be in charge of production.

The millions of fans of the series can therefore exult, they were waiting for this announcement with impatience. We won’t say any more, but the end of the season didn’t necessarily imply a sequel, which was not initially planned. Namely that the format of episodes and seasons has been modified by Netflix compared to TV broadcasting in Spain to better suit the audience. Originally, the series was divided into 15 episodes of about one hour each, divided into two parts. Netflix has made a redistricting with two seasons: the first containing 13 episodes and the second containing 9. These then last between 40 and 50 minutes.

Of course we have many theories in mind about the events that will take place in this season 3 of Casa de Papel but we will refrain from listing them here in order to avoid spoilers. To imagine what the sequel might look like would necessarily be based on the outcome of season 2. However, you can share your ideas in the comments section.
