ASUS ROG Strix XG43UQ 43-Inch 4K 144 Hz HDMI 2.1 Monitor Specifications and International Pricing Revealed

The specifications and price of the highly anticipated ASUS ROG Strix XG43UQ 43-inch 4K HDMI 2.1 gaming monitor have been revealed via early announcements on online stores Overclockers UK and CZC. According to the former, the ASUS ROG Strix XG43UQ costs almost as much as an OLED TV, based on its price tag of £1,348.99, or about $1,870. However, the display offers some interesting features for users who are fans of VA panels, such as B. DisplayHDR 1000 and Display Stream Compression certification, which allows higher resolutions and refresh rates to be achieved via DisplayPort 1.4 without any noticeable effect on image quality.

The 43.4-inch display with VA technology offers a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160, an MPRT of 1 ms, a contrast ratio of 4,000, a peak brightness of 1,000 cd/m2 (HDR), viewing angles of 178/178, a color depth of 10 bits and a wide color gamut covering 90 percent DCI-P3 and 125 percent sRGB, TFT Central said in its report.

Display Stream Compression (DSC) is used by the DisplayPort 1.4 connection to deliver a 4K @ 144 Hz image without having to reduce color depth or levels. The now added 2 HDMI 2.1 ports also have ample bandwidth, making the display ideal for connecting the latest generation of 4K @ 120Hz gaming consoles.

The ASUS ROG Strix XG43UQ also features Local Dimming for better black levels, as well as support for AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro level for smooth, lag-free playback of games, movies and other HDR content. It’s not yet known when the ROG Strix XG43UQ will be available in the US, but the CZC listing suggests that the initial rollout should begin next month.
