The Apex Legends team continues to tweak weapons and loot as we get closer to Season 10. The first major change was revealed earlier this week: the R-301 has a new velocity and reduced damage. In addition, the Havoc is being buffed, and a new weapon called the R-301 Savage will be released. Respawn also has some changes planned for weapons and loot. In this post, you can find all the details about those changes.

The weapon changes in Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy are as follows:

Legends of Apex season 9 Legacy is a very bold season when it comes to changes in loot and weapons. This is the first season with two new hop-ups, the first season with a non-pistol weapon, and the first season with a new weapon class. These changes will disrupt much of what players know about Apex Legends. Let’s take a look at all these changes.

New arms, ammunition and classification Botsek Bow, arrows and marksmanship

Rumors of a Marksman class have finally surfaced. It is midway between an assault rifle and a sniper rifle and is designed for medium distances. In the new classification, there are four types of weapons: G7 Scout, Triple Take, 30-30 repeater and the brand new Bocek bow. Bocek is not a weapon, it’s a compound bow. It uses a brand new type of ammo specific to the weapon: Arrows. They will be less common than other types of ammunition because they are only compatible with one weapon.

Changes to the care package

TL; the DR version of these changes is as follows: The triple win goes to the care package, and the peacemaker goes back to the field. For more information, see our specific guide on this topic.

Turn with kickback

This is the first season with two new hop-ups at once, and both are compatible with the new Bocek arc (and can be folded!). Shatter Caps increase the range of the shot, making it behave like a rifle shot (Bocek bow and 30-30 repeating rifle). Deadeye’s tempo increases the rate of fire at the appropriate tempo (Bow Bocek and Sentinel). For more information on these new lifts, see our user manual.

Upgrades like Hammerpoint ammo and Skullpiercer cutting have been removed this season. All weapons previously compatible with these hop-ups have received upgrades to compensate for distance. We will explain these improvements in more detail in the section on weapon modifications.

Gold/Full running rotation

The full set of weapons is undergoing significant changes this season. Last season, players had the R-301 rifle, 30-30 repeater, Mozambique, Longbow DMR and Spitfire in their gold weapon lineup. There’s only one automatic firearm in the entire lineup this time around, and it’s a short-range weapon. Let’s take a look at the new product line.

  • Wingman
  • Bochek onions
  • R-99 SMG
  • Hemlock Burst AR
  • Guardian

As usual, we have a sniper rifle and the newest weapon in the rotation. Wingman is an interesting choice, as his favorite hop-up, Skullpiercer Rifling, has been removed. The full version, on the other hand, is equipped with a Hop-up quick release. Bochek’s bow should come with both hop-ups (Shatter Caps and Deadeye’s Tempo). The Sentinel will be equipped with Deadeye’s new Tempo Hop-Up device. Hemlok and R-99 don’t have a hop-up. The R-99 as a gold weapon will be very strong, and it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Other changes to prey

Due to the introduction of the new starter set, level 1 helmets and level 1 shields have been permanently removed from the loot pool. Other than that, Evo’s level 1 shields and backpacks are still there.

All Weapon Modifications

Season 9: Legacy will bring a lot more weapon changes than season 8. This is perhaps one of the most radical weapon changes we’ve seen in the game.
