Remember last June, at E3 2017 and the PC Gaming Show conference, fans learned that a 4K episode ofAge of Empires was scheduled to celebrate 20 years of the franchise. Only now we know its release date.

Book your February 20th, Age of Empires returns from beyond the grave and in a 4K version. Age of Empires: Definitive Edition will be released on PC, a few weeks after its beta. The 1997 episode has been revamped to look more elegant than ever on the latest consoles as well as on PCs. The graphics have been completely redesigned, the soundtrack has been completely re-recorded, campaign scenarios have been added to all missions and the campaign and scenario editor has been improved.
Before you build your castles anywhere and anyhow and send your priests to graze the wolves, make sure you control your units well. But playingAge of Empiresis like riding a bike, even 20 years later, the technique is still there. And even if you eat your neighbour’s nettles a couple of times, you’ll soon regain a taste for adventure. In any case, we will have to wait until the end of February to be able to enjoy it. Or just enjoy the multiplayer beta for a while.
