For this fifth conference of this E3 2017, it is up to PC gamers to be particularly spoiled. And for good reason, on this Monday, June 12, consoles are prohibited at the PC Gaming Show. To end this conference in style, a new edition for Age of Empires is unveiled, seducing young and old alike.

Soberly titled Age of Empires Definitive Edition, this version comes to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series. Yes, the famous series of strategy games is already 20 years old. Even though water has flowed under the bridge, Age of Empires does not intend to trade its retro graphic paw at will. However, the graphics are a bit more modern as will allow players to experience 4K on the RTS. The soundtrack also gets a makeover for the occasion.
In order to celebrate its anniversary with dignity, Age of EmpiresDefinitive Editionoffers a first nostalgic trailer. The video offers before/after comparisons to show changes, graphically first. This new edition will also offer zoom and dezoom steps. In this way, it is possible to move the camera closer or further away in order to obtain different visions of the battlefield.
Next to that, multiplayer will be under the cover of Xbox Live. Concerning the gameplay, major innovations will be brought to the strategy game, but we don’t have more details at the moment. No release date for this Age of Empires Definitive Edition at this time. The title will be available on Windows 10 and will include the extension Rise of Rome. Even if an Xbox output has not yet been confirmed, it is more than likely that the RTS will not leave out the Microsoft console. For those who are impatient, you can sign up now for the game beta through the official website.
