There is no quieter way to enjoy a ride between Adelaide and Melbourne than on the recently renovated Overland. Overland is a convenient and relaxing way to travel between cities and relax in and around Melbourne, Adelaide or the surrounding area.

This historic train became a pioneer of rail transport between the capitals in 1887. The name is inspired by the historical inhabitants of the country who travelled this route on horseback. A century later and after a $4 million renovation, today’s travelers will enjoy a relaxing and comfortable journey when they arrive at their destination in the early evening.

On this interstate journey, visitors can enjoy a variety of landscapes, from rugged dairy bushes to fields of golden plants, across wide open plains and rolling hills.

Overland it goes through classic Australian country towns such as Murray Bridge, Bordertown, Nhill, Dimboola, Horsham, Ararat and Geelong. So wherever you go, a trip is a great opportunity to relax in comfort, talk to other travellers and enjoy the ever-changing landscape along the way.

There is a ground service between Adelaide and Melbourne three times a week in both directions. Guests also have the opportunity to get off the train to explore the many regions and cities that Overland traverses on its journey. These guests simply return to The Overland according to a schedule that fits in with their holiday schedule.
